Took truck to shop to get brakes looked at. Shop said brake were fine but I needed new rear wheel seals and bearings on both side. Had a very minor leak so I had them replaced both. About 1500 miles later both blew out leaking Diff. fueled all over in wheel well and dripping out. Major leak. Took back to shop and they replaced both. 8 days later both leaking AGAIN. Took to shop replaced AGAIN. 3 days later leaking again. Now I am at my wits end. I had a very minor leak after 106,000 miles and now I cant go 1500 miles without both seals failing. What gives? Is this a common problem?

Did you check the vent line to make sure it's clear. A plugged vent line will pressurize the diff and blow oil past the seals. Either dirt at the cap or rust where the line threads into the banjo housing.

If that's fine, how are they polishing the axle for the seal surface? If seen some guys reach for 80 grit to clean up seal surfaces. Crude...
