I was just seeing if anyone has done a swap with thier mirrors. I have an 02 sierra and like the look of the tow mirrors that come on the newer GMCs and would like to put the tow mirrors on there. If anyone knows or has done it let me know.

Nice ride! I'm about to swap my mirrors for tow mirrors, and from what I gather, it's a fairly straightforward process. Just unbolt the old, and bolt up the new. Plug & play if you will. Found a set on ebay for a decent price shipped to my door. Power, heated, but no turn signals. Soon to be old ones don't have turn signals anyways.

thanks dooner! but i just wanted to make sure that the new style tow mirrors would bolt up to my year truck before i bought them. ive found some deals on ebay too and think they would set my truck off being lifted. what year is your truck?

Mine's an '04 HD...the packaging on the box says it fits Silverado/Sierra '99-'02 years. Mocking them up, looks like they'll be fine though. There's another new thread here regarding tow mirrors that has me somewhat worried though...

well that sucks.. but maybe thats just on models that have the option of the seat settings and that luxury. im going to buy mine in acouple weeks and see what happens. if you get yours on beofre me let me know how it worked out what all you have to do to install them. im sure i can figure it out, just trying to save some time. thanks dooner

Oh great! Well I'm gonna make a fuss with this company that sold them to me, because I did send them an email stating the difference in model years, and they never did reply. I'll let you know.

Ok..yea thats a dumbass mistake on thier part. so is there a connector i could get to go from my hookup to a new mirrors? or would i have to cut and solder and 04 connector to my truck wiring?..hoping it wont come to that.

I would just solder in a connector on both ends if you cannot find the one you need at a salvage yard. You'll need some schematics too to make sure it gets wired right. I put 2006 mirrors on my 2001 and the connectors were different. My truck didn't come with power mirrors, but the driver's door was wired for them. Maybe the company has retrofited them to work with your vehicle, not sure.

where did you get yours from? im not worried about the heated part or turn signals. when i buy them i will make sure to ask them ifthey have the same hookup as my year, hopefully they do.

Well, here's what I found out. They're going to ship me the correct mirrors when I return the wrong ones to them...at their expense of course. 1BAD02, fear not, there are mirrors available for your vehicle. As a matter of fact, I have a set right here...lol.

Yup, that's the ones I've got...minus the long wiring harness. Mine only came with about 6" of wiring & the wrong connector. MeanStreak was correct. I'll get the right ones though.
