Need New Catalytic Converter

I need to replace my catalytic converter on my 93 c1500. i was thinking about installing a new magnaflow high flow cat but i was worried about this affecting the results of an emissions test. Does anyone know if these will pass an emissions test? BTW i live in Ontario Canada so the laws may be different.

Thank you

Haha i agree thank you very much!

The way I see it, if something is approved for use in California, it should be OK everywhere else...

As a California resident I agree! Smog testing here is way too strict so you should be fine if you buy a prouct that is "50 state legal" or "Cal legal" even if you are in Canadia.

hi 'Spenny22'jk i have same vehicile which had to pass emissions in chicago il,but once it did i was told the vehicile was now exempt from futher testing, due to the age ,so i had the cat's removed after it passed, you may want to find if this will be same situtation.depending on your laws.truck runs&sounds better.jerry67

Up here they have to be really old. Apparently the law is 20 years and older, but I have a friend who's running an 89 F150 and he is still forced to do e-test. Stupid laws are all messed up.

I do'nt have a cat on my Blazer. That said, i don't know the emissions up there - where i live we have no emissions testing. My mileage, has, however, increassed since i cut it out.

Actually now vehicles in Ontario that were made after 1988 must have a test done every two years. Stupid. But I passed with a magnaflow cat that is not California legal! And it really has increased the performance of my truck.
