Heated Seat Trouble

Recommended Posts

Mine turned out to be something with (a or the) circuit board that controls the operation of the seat heater. Ordered part and told me to come back Tuesday and take like 10 minutes to swap out.

Uh, no fix as they went right back to doing the same thing ... ... oh well will drop off in a few days for another go at solving.

Yeah, I had the same trouble with my truck. Ordered the seat elements and had a local upholstery shop install. Overall it set me back about $160. They work fine now, but when you hit the button for the back only, only the bottom heats up. Everything looks like it's hooked up right, and I watched them install so I know they didn't get the elements switched. Oh well, at least my butt is warm now.

Mine just went out as well. I have my remote start hooked up to the heated seat switch. When I start my truck the driver's seat kicks on high. Its pretty awesome. Just had my car audio guy go through it and I think they are toast. 2003 122k

LOL...I just had my Drivers side done last month for the same issue. The back only though. Bottom gets toasty....Back is not as hot...Oh well it works.

Mine has the same issue, how much did it cost to repair?

This is a great post, and I think most likely my heart elements are shot. Does anyone know the PN by chance?

Thanks!!!

That is good info. My problem sounds pretty much like that except it is intermittent. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. If it doesn't work, it doesn't work on either side. Sometimes it will click on with the lights working and then shut off within a few seconds. Then it won't work again unless I turn the truck off. When it does work, it seems to heat up just fine, but it is not that often.

My intermittent issue still exisit and the dealer has been no help in solving. Usually they temporally work and they'll just say they couldn't find anything wrong.
