How Much Trans Fluid Is Lost When You Change Outer Filter On An Alliso

How much tranny fluid is lost when you change the outer filter cartridge on an Allison transmission? This is something I have alway's had done at a shop. With the outer filter being changed(which I have had done every time my oil is changed) every 6,000 miles, how often does the inner filter need to be changed?

Not very much. Last time I changed mine the level didn't even change enough to worry about adding any. It only holds about a pint and less comes out behind it.

The inner filter does not have to be changed till overhaul, and the outside filter is to be changed at the first service and 25,000 miles if you tow a lot to 50,000 miles if you don't, along with draining the fluid. Doing it early is one thing every engine oil change is a little much.
