posted a thread a little while ago about my truck dying.

http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/index.php?...l=randomly+died

popped off a coil pack to check spark, there was spark.

bled off pressure from schraeder valve on fuel line, cycled key, cranked it a few times, checked fuel press again...nada

obviously its easy to say fuel pump but before i plunk down $300 for a new one, are there other things to check for that could cause the problem, senders, relays etc?

where would i find these?

also, everywhere i look shows about 15 different pumps for my truck, some are junk oe replacement, but of the denso, delphi, delco whatever there are still multiple models for robust fuel system, auxilary this and that. is there somewhere that has a part search by vin#?

many thanks,

Mike

do you hear the fuel pump primes when you put the key to run before cranking the motor? if not its probably dead...go to the dealer and get a oem fuel pump for your make and year and be done

and MR lustworm, great advise as i am an OEM guy ,you forgot the fuel filter replacement is always done with a pump replacement to give the new pump a fighting chance lol cause the filter is almost ALWAYS so plugged up with pump poop ,you can't blow thru it lol

it also helps with pump warranty if doing due diligence
