Has anybody had any dificulty with their gas pedal sticking at the beginning of acceleration. I have to push it pretty hard to get it to start. My wife gets pretty mad at me when she gets whiplash!!!

Thanks for any assistance!

Thanks everybody, went out after supper and cleaned it. It was all gunked up!

I drive and tow with a 2000 Sierra 2500 with a 5.3 and a K&N.

I'd like to make some mild power mods this winter as well as get rid of the air sounds coming from the drivers side X cab window and most of the rattles that you guys all talk about.

Thanks for the welcome, wingnut.

My 2002 did this the day I test drove it. It would almost squeel the tires from a stop light and don't even think about driving it in the snow. I lubed the spring on the T.B. and it cured the problem right then and there.

Maybe we need an area for common problems/fixes that a newcomer can reference to. There have been some excellent responses to the piston slap problem, driveline clunk, stickey throttle and grease fitting locations to mention just a few.

Look over on the left side of the screen, under Features you'll see a link named "Guides". That's where you'll find all that kind of stuff. Some good stuff under there that's been posted in the past.

I've got the air sounds too but its comin from the passenger side x-cab window, was thinkin of using super glue on the window latch or something. I hate noises in my cab.

Couldn't find the article on cleaning the throttle body?

Was I looking in the wrong place??

Someone still needs to write an article about cleaning the throttle body. Most of the other stuff that was mentioned is there though. Just mentioning that the spot already exists to collect that sort of info. Sometimes we all forget it's there no matter how long we've been around here.
