Just moved to Charlotte and am in need of some offroading. If anyone knows any good trails within a couple of hours, please notify me. I know there are some in the mountains but don't know a good spot. Any help would be appreciated!

There's a few good mud holes near Boone, if you want directions I can give them to you. I have some nice off roading near my property, I live about thirty minutes from Boone, and about fifteen from the Blue Ridge Parkway. Just driving up here is worth the trip even if you don't plan on getting muddy.

uwharrie national forest is in Troy NC, just up 24/27 from Charlotte- I used to go there alot when I was stationed in NC. Its a great place- lots of trails, from easy to pretty darn difficult. Look it up on google... Uwharrie National Forest...

Sierragirl, can you give me directions to some good mud holes around Boone/Beech MTN area? I live in Greenville, SC and drive up that way all the time. I would love to get my new truck muddy...

You do realize that this is a 4 year old post, right? (and Sierragirl hasn't logged in since Feb. 2004)

There is always Tellico which is a really good place to go off road. Not sure how far it is from you exactly, maybe 3hrs? I have had a few friends drive all the way from eastern NC here in Goldsboro area just to go out there for a weekend getaway with their CJ's.
