None!

Dont waste yout money, seriously.

Either go with a mail order PCM like Nelson's or Wester's or better yet, a custom Dyno tune. Handhelds dont do much and are about the same price.

I've had handhelds and I can tell you there is no comparison to a good tune. Find a dyno tuner in your area!

As mentioned previously I'm not into getting the MAX performance out of my truck - I get that out of my Firehawk. I wanted something that was quick, easy to use, gave me a little better performance and allowed me to compensate for the 285's I put on. If I wanted the most out of my truck I would get a dyno or custom tune, but I'm not and for what I want out my my truck the Flashpaq works just fine.

You may want to add to your post (unless of course you want their input) that you are only interested in a handheld and not a custom tune otherwise you are going to get a ton of people telling you not to waste your time or $$ and get a custom tune. There are way too many posts out there about the handheld vs custom tune debate. You may want to specify in this instance.

In the end it is all about what works best FOR YOU and what YOU do with YOUR truck. Some people like what a handheld does for their truck and others don't. I for one get the dyno tuning done on a different vehicle not my daily driver.

I just tried both the Diablo Predator and the Superchips Flashpaq on my 07 Classic 6.0. The Diablo was a lot better. It has a lot more options you can change like turning off Torque Managament. The Flashpaq is a quick and easy install but it doesn't give you these options. I also felt the truck pull better with the Diablo. As a second test, I installed both these programmmers on my dads 07 Classic 8.1, but didn't tell him which programmer was in his truck. He said the Diablo pulled better, shifted better and felt good. Plus we both got better mileage with the Diablo. Just my opinions. I paid 300.00 for the Diablo, 440.00 for the Flashpaq, and if you really want great performance, get a tuned PCM from Westers, Wait4me or similiar companies. They range from 160.00 to 550.00 but they will kill and handheld out there.

Why not dyno tune for your DD?

The truck in my sig is the truck I drive to work every day! Hey it's your $$ and if you want to pay a lot for a little then go ahead, no sweat :withstupid: but there's no advantage to the handheld on a daily driver.

Now, why not spend that same cash for HPTuners or EFILive? At least then you have the ability to customize your tune if you want to. If you aren't familliar, these allow you to "program" your PCM thru the OBD port, a cable and software running on your laptop.

I mention this because when I first started wanting better performance I thought the handheld was my only option. I had no idea about mail order tuning, dyno tuning, tuning software. Just throwing this out there so you know there are other options.

Because I have HPTuners for my Firehawk and I'm not interested in dyno tuning my truck. Cable is sitting right here next to me as a matter of fact. I know how they work. I only paid $300 for my Flashpaq for my truck and that isn't that big a deal for me. Trust me I know more about performance than you think and I know what options I have. A good friend of mine owns a performance shop and I have spent THOUSANDS of countless dollars on my Firehawk and my old 03 1500 that I had as well as my 95 Z28, my 97 Camaro SS, my 01 C5 and now the Firehawk. I'm not a newbie to this stuff by any means. I'm just NOT interested in getting a custom tune or a dyno tune for my truck. That time is spent on my car.

No offense, but if you have all this knowledge about tuning, why are posting on here asking for advice? Seems like a waste of time to me. I post on here when I don't know what I am doing, not when I do.

Are you talking to me? If so this isn't my post and I'm not asking for opinions. I was giving mine because the post asks what tuner and why so I told him what tuner I use and why. Others questioned me about my decision when I was just responding to the guys post. I'm not asking for any advice. Check the name of the person who started the post. It wasn't me. :withstupid:

It's all good :withstupid: , no problem.

I can understand your point if you already have another "project" and want to keep your truck fairly stock.

As far as the other options, I was for the most part addressing the original poster whom may, or may not know all of his tuning choices.

No problem! I've got the Firehawk and my wife and I have a "new family member" coming this Fall so my priorities will change  I've already got plenty of $$ put into the HD already - the 285's, grill, bull bar (came from my 03 1500), PIAA 510's (also from my 03 1500, nasta step bars, spray in liner, tonno cover and the Flashpaq. I'll get a CAI and exhaust later this summer and that should be about it for me for a while :withstupid: Firehawk's paid off in May so that's always a plus!!

I wanted to get a W4Me tune, but they don't have any '06 cores! At least that's what Hannah told me a few weeks ago. I wanna keep my core due to warranty issues.

I chose Predator based on much research. I wanted a programmer to adjust tire size and read codes. Others have said the Predator works well on the LLY engine and has been great on mine. BTW, I use the 65HP setting and average 19MPG.
