It has come to the attention of GM-Trucks.com that GM does not want to have any user of this forum post anymore confidentiality information about its products, services or information that is not generally available to the public. At this time GM has not specified what content is to be edited/removed from our forum. In light of this information, for the interim no additional information will be posted in the Tech Wiki nor on any threads regarding confidential GM information. Our Administrators are currently working with GM and its representees to be compliant with their request. More information regarding specifics will follow in the near future.

Note from the Admin: The information in question is located in the tech wiki. Please do not confuse this with "the whole forum is under the GM microscope". The fact is that there is "A few" copyrighted works in the tech wiki, and they will be removed as it is illegal to distribute copyrighted works. I will keep everyone posted.

Yes, this includes TSBs, VIN Checks, Unpublished Documents, Diagrams, Product Info...etc. No information will be sent in PMs either. We dont want to give GM any reason to take any unnecessary action against the forum. Many apologies to all who relies on our information sharing.

Part Numbers may be ok, however GM and its representatives have not given specifics. Part Numbers can be obrained from GMPartsDirect.com with a simple VIN number sent to their customer service area....i.e. public information. It is a fine line that GM and its representatives have not clearly defined, one canot be sure though.

Are there going to be any consequences to those that had access to this information and posted it here?

Hmmm.. Now why would GM want to hide things like TSBs from the general public? Must be too many warranty claims in these hard times for GM. With the TSB in hand it makes it hard for the dealer to sell the "It's normal operation" reply to the poor sap with an issue.

No telling, with the representatives, they may hve the admins ban us, may only require us to remove all of the information they deem private or revoke our privileges on GM Global Connect. Not trying to scare anyone that has been helpful in posting information here, but privacy lawsuits can follow (AT THIS POINT LAWSUITS ARE ONLY SPECULATION), there has been no update as to what action will be taken. Updates to this will definitely be posted in this thread. Thanks for all the support thus far!
