  1. I'm sorry for your loss, Grumpy. Your post serves as a reminder that although restrictions are lifted, Covid didn't go away. Personally, I am impacted more now than when restrictions were in full force. Neighbours on both sides of us have recently tested positive along with a few friends and relatives. It is so simple to keep your distance and to wear a mask when you can't. People debate the effectiveness of these strategies but they do reflect an overall effort to reduce spread. Example: Yesterday, while waiting at a dealership for my Trike to be fixed, I observed a friendly female employee hug acquaintances and/or colleagues on a few occasions. It was her style and not inappropriate in a pre-pandemic environment. The absence of masks and social distancing at this Harley Davidson dealership was discouraging. However, when I put on my mask, I felt my personal space was respected by all. My behavior may not garner me a hug from friendly acquaintances but I've managed to avoid Covid so far. I appreciate that for many, getting Covid is uneventful but there are too many with extreme and/or long lasting consequences for me to ignore basic prevention behaviours.

  3. The great thing is this will be a native tune and not a piggyback like other ones.

  5. When I got my truck the dealership filled it up and then let it idle for 30-40 minutes while I did paperwork and then they did the walkthrough to show me the truck and to let the Onstar rep try to sell me a bunch of stuff via the truck's internet connection. That was neat I guess and probably a real moneymaker for GM but a waste of fuel. Initially the truck reported 10.6 mpg because of that. At 350 miles on the odometer it's up to 15.6 mpg. Just did the first fill-up. I had a $1/gallon discount so it cost ONLY $93 to put in 21 gallons of 87. My driving is at sea level, and is a 50/50 mix of city and highway. But the highway can be pretty much a parking lot at times. I think I will be lucky if I get even close to the numbers some of you mention. I will be happy if I am north of 18mpg per tank.

  7. Installed the tailgate Kicker, in the big butt, that the dealer didn't have time to install.

  8. Looks great, but what color is it? Hard to tell if it’s black due to some of the reflections or titanium that looks black when it’s overcast.

  9. Good news on this. It looks like trifecta tuning is working on a tune for this engine. Check this link out. https://gmauthority.com/blog/2022/06/here-are-the-gm-vehicle-tuning-projects-trifecta-is-working-on/

  10. I generally don’t get close to anyone but family. That’s usually where you transfer illnesses. All the traveling I did-do even during Covid. I got it from a church member from a Christmas Eve hug.

  13. ECE you have shutters on your truck which are closed most of the time in the winter, so i dont think a plow would hurt it

  14. I also would like to see a tune. My interest is more in fuel efficiency though. I think major improvements could be had with only minor reductions in driveability.

  16. I am SO sorry for not replying earlier. I wasn't notified I got a response. We finally got it to work. the instructions I found online said to unlock your truck first then start the procedure. we randomly figure out it needed to be locked.

  19. It's true GM has never really been successful in marketing an off-road vehicle.....even the ZR2 S10's were not that well received. The Z71 package has always been a joke, just some moderate tires and shocks and a Z71 sticker. GM has always done better making SS vehicles, they'd probably do better making another SS street pickup with a supercharged 6.2 in it. Prices are insane right now, but I'll say it and guys won't like it......the ZR2 and AT4x are still way behind the Raptor in off road and tech. The raptor has a linkage rear, WAY more wheel travel, way more articulation, it's faster, it has more tech, it comes factory with 35/37 tires, it has a much a more sophisticated 4wd and suspension setup. More ground clearance, a pano roof, a 2000 watt inverter, a 36 gallon tank, 4:10 rear end, dynamic bending headlights, aux switches, better seats. The list goes on an on. The only thing the AT4x/ZR2 have going for them is the front rear lockers which won't do as much for you off road as more clearance, bigger tires, more articulation and more suspension travel of the Raptor will. The only other thing it has going for it is massage seats.

  21. Unless you plan to keep the truck forever, that $7000 argument holds no water. Diesel 3/4 and 1 ton truck have a higher resale value than their gas counterparts, so you pay more on the front end but get more back on the back end. As for the 150k mile belt, even if you keep the truck for its life, that's what, a 1 time expense? At 150k, only an idiot would be paying a dealer for that job. Probably a $2500 job assuming you aren't addressing any other issues while in there (refreshing the torque converter, rear main seal, etc.) At 15,000 miles a year, that's maintenance hits at 10 years. Sock $250/year ($20.83/month) into your piggy bank and it will pay for that maintenance. IMO, not that big of a deal based on its service life.

  22. I purchased this one. It also uses the bottom of the stock air box. Installation was a simple and I think it looks great under the hood. Corsa clams 11hp and 11tq. Throttle response feels a bit better. Best part was I only paid 280.00 for it shipped. https://www.cspracing.com/corsa-performance-cold-air-intake-system-with-drytech-filter-2019-chevy-silverado-sierra-1500-5-3l-v8/45953d/
