  1. Way to get your kids involved!
  2. Those Dodge's would have been great with a 5-speed auto.
  3. actually I too feel like my Duramax has a bit more kick in the pants feel to it when it's doing a regen.
  4. Might find this interesting. https://www.bgprod.com/blog/under-pressure-low-tension-piston-rings/
  5. They deserved the win. They played better.
  6. It will do juuuuuuuuuuuuust fine for those little hills.
  7. On my previous 2 LMMs and 1 LML, I could plug in my block heater at temps of 30-40 F and it would kick in most of the time. Starting was quick, and there was heat much quicker. Yes yes yes, the owners manual says don't plug in unless below 0 but phooey to that. Some of us appreciate having heat quicker. (and it helps to defrost/defog the windows quicker) And no check engine lights either.
  8. Normal from what I can tell. Others have described the same thing over on duramaxforum.com with these L5Ps. I think I even have it, but I do have some hearing loss. For better peace of mind, I suggest running full synthetic oil and a good premium filter, if you are not doing so already.
  9. DEF tank has heaters that will warm up the frozen DEF fluid (and will likely go bad before you hit 100,000 miles, uggh) High idle will kick in (if selected on) after I think.. 20 seconds of normal idle to allow time for oil to circulate thru the engine before putting a slight demand on it. Plug the truck in for a minimum of 6 hours if temps are what you are describing. 3-4 hours for temps above 0c
  10. What kind of jump box were you using? If it's anything smaller than this, you need a bigger box. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01GQDBNWS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_image_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  11. Aside from women, I'm still trying to figure out what my other interests are.
  12. Recalls maybe, but for TSBs? It is usually the mechanics themselves who search for those, not the service writers. And because there are so many TSBs out there in the industry, they don't go about memorizing all of them.
  13. well.. there's always next year. And the year after, and after that, and.. oh who cares, it's just a game.
  14. Yeah but it's just a boring Hyundai. No offense.
  15. Oh.. the super bowl. Is that today? Also, are those real people in the stands, or just digital altering?
  16. Can you post a photo of that, Freak?
  17. Hmm interesting.. Good point about the 10 speed. I wonder how the 2019 L5P would do with the 6-speed.
  18. The average new car price now is around $40,000. Given how much more expensive things are now.. having adjusted for inflation, and given the low number of new vehicles available on dealer lots until production returns to normal, used car prices are at a premium. If you want to sell, NOW is the time to do so. If you want to buy.. NOW is NOT the time to do so. Don't expect many if any end of year deals for 2021 models or any huge manufacturer rebates or deals this year.
  19. Being debt free is the best feeling ever. (next to marrying an awesome woman) Enjoy your freedom.
  20. What about disconnecting the block heater/cutting power about 15-20 min before you start it up in temps above 0? That way the coolant will still be warm and you will get warm air, but it won't be too hot to set the check engine light? I've yet to encounter the check engine light issue on the 6.6s, even when running the block heater in temps between 30-45 degrees F- and yes, it will come on in those temps, even with that so called thermostat built into the plug.
  21. How does this differ from a new coat of wax every 6 months? I'm still trying to learn what the advantages and disadvantages are of ceramic coating. What type of prep do you have to do before applying the ceramic coating?
  22. well now that's better.
  23. Bringing topic back to top. Time for some updates from you folks on your other cars.
  24. Bringing topic back to top. Need some updates from ya'll. I'll have a few to post on my 2018 Duramax soon.
  25. The awesome duramax wins the pulling game, but it's in the ugliest looking body of the three.
