  1. I was down to around 10% and oil change was due ... Just did it all at the same time. FWIW, my trucks life is 95% towing. I'd imaging that has a lot to do with it. To add a real life experience. I do a regular weekend trip towing an enclosed trailer roughly 240 round trip. On my prior 6.2, I'd have to fill up with about 50 miles remaining on the last leg. With the 3.0, I make it there and back and have, on average, 1/4 of a tank left. Again, that's real world comparison. And in my opinion, enough to settle any debate for me.
  2. I had 2 prior trucks with the 6.2L ... it wanted premium fuel and drank it like a sailor. Couldn't take it anymore. My 6.2 never saw better than 19mpg with 17 average using premium in real driving. My 3.0 has done 30mpg with 26mpg the real 75mph mileage. So average about 30% more per tank. Here diesel price is about the same as midgrade fuel. The only pain is DEF which is pennies added and a fuel filter at about 18,000 miles for $12.00 Still blows away the gas engine. Emissions problems? Who cares? it's under warranty. I've been back one time for an updated ECU program related to emissions. I wont mention leaking rear window though.
  3. I have the 3.0 .... and will never do gas again.
  4. And I am now on my 4th leak as of yesterday. Today, the lemon law attorney has been contacted.
  5. My 2020 towed my 8800lbs boat+trailer with NO issues whatsoever. Your problem is your trailer. You've got too much tongue weight. Buy a tongue weight scale or maybe someone can loan you one to test. 10% max weight should be on the tongue. Based on your numbers, 500lbs. Do not waste money on adding suspension gimmicks. They are not needed. Fix where your boat sits on the trailer and you'll be good to go.
  6. Unfortunately, that GM these days... It's all over this site. Lifter failures, broken valve springs. Embarrassing.
  7. Got mine back on repair #3 ... This time an entire new rear window installed by a glass company. Let's see if it holds ... if not, Mr. Lemon Lawyer will be calling.
  8. GM is the absolute worst at pushing updates OTA. At least they had to pay for a tow because of a dead battery in my case ... all because of my truck not getting the OTA.
  9. I wouldnt lose sleep. Maybe you'll find the "fix" for needing to add def ... Worst case, you'll get the 55mph warning and you'll know a trip to the dealer is in order.
  10. An early review mentioned that the exhaust brake was more show than slow ... I presume due to the smaller engine.
  11. Cant speak directly. But I just had mine in for another ECU reprogram due to CEL ...

  13. If you saw the update history on the brake system, you’d be scared to drive your truck... Me and the service manager would be having a nice chat if they told me there was a cost to do anything under warranty.
  14. There’s a software update that addresses many issues... could solve yours. Problem is, since it’s GM, you may end up having to visit dealer. Their OTA is beyond a joke.
  15. If you want someone to tell you how sorry they are and know exactly how you feel, then talk to those clowns. Otherwise, just work with the service people and get it fixed. GM Customer service is totally useless. A case number means nothing. I doubt the dealership gives a rats butt either ...
  16. 2019 leaked ... 2020 just started ?
  17. Yeah, Im gonna call BS on the comparison.... I own both trucks. My Denali maxed 36mpg on a road trip. My Canyon made it to 46mpg. Either way terrific numbers, but no way better than the Canyon diesel.
  18. Make sure you have the latest software in the infotainment system ... Mine was deader than a doornail .... cause: open circuit. Fix ... software update
  19. I read the bulletin on the bad valve springs and recall seeing a statement that a tick is normal due to AFM ...
  20. If you lease, let whoever do the oil changes. If you own and want it done right, do it yourself.
  21. Exactly. I remember getting a $500 coupon for a new vehicle purchase that expired within 6 months or something ridiculous .... Only ones who win are the lawyers.
  22. GM is an absolute joke at updates. Take it to the dealer. This last one for the 2020's is needed. Had my truck die due to dead battery. This update was the fix.
  23. Definitely make them buy that sucker back. GM needs some hits to the bottom line to convince the idiot at the top to improve quality.
  24. Maybe 2500lbs total towing .. nothing in the bed. Here's the trailer on my 6.2
  25. Here ya go.. I do a regular trip every weekend. 250 miles round trip. 8x12 enclosed trailer. Not heavy but Very tall though, so it’s serious drag. with the 6.2, I’d have to fill up at the 200 mile mark with 50 miles to go. same trip with the 3L, there and back and usually 1/4 tank left. Depending on headwinds... So, I think the 6.2 would max out at 240-250 miles on a tank towing. The 3.0 would probably make it to 330-350 miles.
