  1. If you like the style of the rough country bumper, I’d say it’s a safe buy. I have seen one in person and it was clean lines and welds, it looked well built. ive had good luck with Rough Country products. I have the curved single row midnight light bar behind my grille and the traction bars on my rear end. Both are well priced and good additions to my truck. I would buy those items again. The traction bars are a supringly effective upgrade that you will notice immediately.
  2. Well said, kennerz. I will let you know how it progresses.
  3. Who has replaced their factory rear driveshaft: Why? What brand or what type of custom build? Type of mods to driveshaft? Steel vs. Aluminum heavier/thicker walled/stronger Length added to accommodate lift kit? Heavier U Joints? Two piece? Cost? Results? Additional Advice or comments? Feel free to add in any field I neglected to mention. *I searched, but did not find a dedicated replacement driveshaft thread.
  4. If the speedo is wrong with oversized tires, that does not indicate to me that it’s been tuned, part of the tuning process is to get the speedo corrected. The lack of cylinder deactivation is a much stronger clue. One of the things the dealership uses to sniff out tunes is looking at how many times the OBD port menu has been accessed. Maybe they could look at that. But now you're getting into rough water... What type of warranty did the used truck come with? Are they making an allowance for having sold you a tuned truck? You certainly don’t want them to try and deny you a claim based on a tune that was installed before they sold it to you. You might consider calling BlackBear and Diablo -(Lew) with your VIN and explain that you’ve bought the truck and are trying to ascertain it’s pedigree. Good luck and keep us informed. This is somewhat new territory.
  5. Keep posting the steps. I’m hooked on this thread.
  6. I was thinking about the the seats and all the big pieces. The leather looks like it could use some love. I didn’t realize you were just mocking up for now. I just thought it would be a lot easier to clean the pieces before installing them. I am looking forward to seeing the finished product. It is an enormous upgrade that will really look phenomenal when done. I agree that you’re a glutton for punishment, as I’m certain that there is a lot of custom work required for it to fit even remotely correctly. But what a huge payoff when it’s done. Where did you get the complete interior?
  7. Shouldn’t you be cleaning it as you go along, rather than trying to do everything at the end? it looks like one heck of an upgrade.
  8. If it’s too loud now, you might try a carven muffler, I have an Aero muffler, from the manufacturer in Utah. Niether of them are very restrictive. I’m surprised that just the muffler delete is too loud.
  9. Does the kind of figure eight chrome plastic piece come in other colors or finishes. Mine is chrome and it reflects sunlight right into my eyes occasionally. I would like to replace it with a different one, if it’s available.
  10. That’s a great question.
  11. Leave it to the Texan to come up here and act out in our “ parking lots “. ? to keep within the rules of the thread. On my fifteen when I fuel, the hook inside the gas door on which you can hang the gas cap- hold the cap perpendicular to the ground and hang the very edge of the cap’s lip on the hook, it fits perfectly and sits securely, rather than sticking the threaded part on the hook.
  12. I have the Morimoto fogs on my 2015, they are significantly brighter and throw a much wider pattern than the factory fogs. They help me watch for deer in the bar ditches. I would whole heartedly recommend them to give you better light dispersion. However... timting your front windows so dark that you are concerned about being able to see at night is not wise. This could quite literally bring a tragedy into your and maybe someone else’s life. One or two shades lighter tint is not going to ruin the appearance of your truck or significantly affect the cooling and protective aspect of your tint. There are more expensive tints that are slightly metallic and therefore more reflective from the outside, which creates the illusion of being darker. That type of tint might be a better fit for you. Be smart.
  13. Go to an outdoor, hunting or farm supply store. Buy a $4 little bottle of coyote urine. Put a few drops here and there under the hood. I hit the wire looms a bit as well. Do Not put it on the air filter or anywhere in the air ducts or you will have to get used to coyote urine. I apply it about twice a year, it keeps the mice away. The K&N Durable cabin filter is a great investment. It takes about ten minutes to install it the first time. Once you have cleaned it a time or two, you can get it out in two minutes flat.
