  1. Really. Snow flakes Chevy sad. You are in that category because you are in the same boat it seems that bought a new series truck and then whine about it. You owners of the new design 2019's are the test crowd. Sorry but that's the truth IMO. Nobody likes a smart a$$, especially one that rags on a product they own.
  2. My guess is modified sine wave. To be sure an oscilloscope hooked up would tell you.
  3. Question about the bilstein shock. I don't want to change the height of my truck. Just improve the ride. What shock would work?
  4. Don't know about mushrooms. We love our house. Been here almost 3 years. Wife's a native. I've been here 34 years. ?
  5. More snow yesterday. Sunrise today.
  6. I agree the quality may have gone down and all parts can fail. But a wheel bearing is no big deal to me. Beats motor or trans issues.
  7. We have had 2 used Honda's and a 2007 used Accord. The wife's cars. The first one was totaled when she was rear ended at 50 mph while she was sitting at a stop light. She will pay for this the rest of her life. The second one was stolen from her work parking lot. Now the Accord. Replaced the power steering pump and the AC compressor on the 2007 Accord. Did it myself. The first one never touched it but regular maintenance. The second one a seal in the power steering pump went bad, started leaking. Repaired it with a rebuild kit of eBay for $12. Honda's have been reliable for us and wouldn't hesitate buying another used one. Looked at a used 2016 CR-V EX recently. Leased, maintained and returned to the dealer for sale. All maintenance records and 24 K miles. The Accord runs great and we just had the timing belt done and new tires so we decided to drive it longer. Has a 105 K miles on it.
  8. Lived in California for 7 years. It was nice but I got tired of the same old weather. Too many people.
  9. Thanks We have mountains, high prairie, mountain passes, steams, creeks, rivers lakes. 11 Mile Reservoir. I was on this lake and a hail storm came through. I had an inch of hail in the boat. Luckily I had a winter coat with a hood and thick gloves. Still wanted it to end.
  10. We are at 9200 feet in Colorado. We can have snow in June. Took the boat out for the first time this year on Monday, nice day. Lake is 8700 feet in elevation. Started snowing yesterday afternoon. Temp was 40 degrees so some snow melted. Woke up to 20 degrees, 3 inches and snowing. View from the lake with a small island included.
  11. I understand your frustration with 47 K miles but parts do fail. Why buy rebuilt? Look other places like Rock Auto. Will be looking for pics or a video.
  12. An auto parts store will check your battery for free. My guess is the battery is bad. Put a new battery in it.
  13. Not to put salt on the wound. Now how much is that warranty worth? My point is you shouldn't have to go through this. We spend our money but everyone else makes the rules. It's wrong IMO.
  14. So the only way to keep this system active is to buy OEM pads with the sensor? Might be a nice feature to some but the metal wear tab was simple and worked.
  15. We had 2 4 cyl. Hondas bit they were stick shifts. The wifes v6 Accord does not lack power. But a pick up has to have a V8.
  16. Lets keep it simple. 0w20 to 5w30 is not a big difference. 0w20 to 20w50 is a big difference.
  17. wacko Are you saying that at 150 K miles you switched to 5w30 and got another 50K miles. You put in a new motor and are using 5w30 in it?
  18. K.I.S.S.= Keep It Simple Stupid. I try not to over think things and make them complicated, makes life easier. This is the reason I still do 3 K mile OCI. If I run my oil temp high while towing or my trans fluid no big deal to me because I change my fluids more than most. As far as viscosity, I use the recommended viscosity until higher mileage or oil usage goes up. Simple.
  19. I mix my own with premium gas, 91 octane here and Stihl HP 2 cycle oil. Run the saw out of gas when stored. Never had a problem. Use the same mix in my leaf blower that gets used year round. Used to blow off deck when light snow and clean driveway to keep from tracking stuff into house. Also they run rich here at 9200 feet. I don't let them bog down, full throttle.
  20. I emailed Stihl about this. There reply, Hello Mr. XXXX, We are in receipt of and thank you for your e-mail. Stabilizer was deleted from the refining process of STIHL HP Ultra engine oil because stabilizers only have a marginal effect regarding shelf life extension of mixed fuel. Before modern fuels were augmented with the additives currently used, stabilizers were a much more effective product regarding extending the shelf life of gasoline. Nowadays, stabilizers only extend the shelf life for a matter of days rather than weeks or months. Thank you again for your e-mail. Best regards, Wayne Lemmond Technical Service Representative STIHL Inc. :)
  21. I'm polite and will walk and come back another day. Your point is well taken. I just don't play their game. There are to many dealers and vehicles to not get a good price.
  22. IMO If you let yourself get in the position that you need a vehicle right away you are playing into their game. If you let them control the deal you will loose IMO. . When dealing with a dealer to purchase my used vehicles I don'y play their game. I know the vehicles value and tell the salesman this is what I'm offering. Do we have a deal or not. If the salesman plays the he has to talk to manager card, I say you have 5 minutes to return or I walk. If the manager comes to talk to me I tell him the same, this is my offer, deal or not. I can walk and look for another vehicle, deal because I'm not in dire straights to purchase one. If you let them take control they act like they are doing you a favor to sell you a vehicle. The guy with poor credit and limited funds is icing on the cake.. I know people who spent hours buying a vehicle. Once the deal is made I don't wait around for paper work. I tell them when the papers and vehicle are ready call me. I had a sales manager tell me that the vehicle I was interested in they had to do some work on trying to get me to raise my offer. I told him you're problem. You bought it. Deal or no deal. He said he needed to talk to his manager. I said you have 5 minutes to OK the deal or I walk. They stopped me while I was walking to my truck and said deal. I also negotiate the dealer fees. Cost of doing business to me. I refuse to let them control the deal, IT'S My Money.
  23. Sorry to hear about your engine failure but it does happen. I understand your feelings and concerns. New engine, doubtful. If money is not a problem quit stressing. Drive it or replace it.
