  1. It's worn off, not dirty. Got a lot of miles on it?
  2. My 6.2 gets 20 mpg easily and consistently. Old '11 Tahoe 5.3 at its best barely made 19 on identical roads and trips, usually only 18 mpg. Not loaded up figures also. And no comparison to the power on tap with the 6.2. Look at the window stickers, same mpg ratings for the 5.3 or the 6.2.
  3. Today's batteries made with recycled lead are hit or miss junk. Don't assume your new truck has a battery that is no different than a replacement aftermarket battery. There are only a few battery manufacturers in the country, and it depends on who is making them this month also.
  4. Just keep a good coating of ceramic's on them. I use Turtle wax stuff. I kept the chromies on my old '11 Tahoe looking good for 150k miles until I traded it in for the Silverado. And that was with heavy salt zone driving also.
  5. Open your front doors and look in behind the fender. See that sound insulation inside there? Cut the bottom of it off several inches up so wet leaves and junk do not get trapped in there. GM does that on a lot of their vehicles. Plus you will see junk in there and flush it out. New truck then get some corrosion inhibitor in there before things start to happen. Thats where all that cowl water drains down to and rots out the dog leg.
  6. Oops my bad. Not all plastic. The GM boards I put on are aluminum with a black plastic coating on them. I wanted rust resistance and a factory fit with factory strength. 4 mounting brackets also. Part No.: 84676694
  7. I put the GM black plastic full length boards on my '23 Z71 crew. Used my buying points to lower the price. I'm in a salt zone and wanted the plastic. Corrosion inhibiter on the brackets. Perfect fit and solo installed both in a little over an hour.
  8. I believe the technology package only has the 7 pin and camera jacks. Just use the 7 to 4 adaptors. Been using one for years in my fleet, no issues.
  9. Lock actuator is part of the latch assy. Fix it before it stops unlocking totally as it can be a bear to open the door to get door panel off and get to latch bolts inside the door jamb. Common GM thing, I've had to replace them in GM cars in the past. With the auto locking they get over used IMO.
  10. Shutters have nothing to do with interior heat. Auto system tends to run on the cool side in all my GM vehicles until the interior parts ''warm up''. This seems to be most noticeable when it's in between the 40's and 50's.
  11. Dome lights are controlled by the BCM. No relay, relays are an on / off switch. Door switch sends data to the BCM. BCM controls the dimming.
  12. I get a glare spot on the windshield from the HUD housing in certain sun conditions also.
  13. Seats in my old '11 Tahoe LTZ were way better than the bleacher seats in my '23 LTZ. My old '99 Yukon had comfy couches in comparison. Hard seats seem to be the trend in later model GM's. My '20 High Country Traverse has hard seats also.
  14. 96k it should have been on its 3rd fluid change. Fluid is cheap, trans. not so cheap. I've taken multiple RWD and FWD trans. to 200k miles with no issues, many with tow duty.
  15. My last update added a ''red zone'' in the trailer view when the turn signal is on in the dash display with a trailer connected. I have my trailer measurements added into the 3 trailer configurations in my truck.
  16. But a loud exhaust makes your ''unit'' 3 times larger.....
  17. Wheel chocks are a must on a slope. All four off the ground is risky though, even on stands.
  18. Follow the severe schedule for things to go the distance. I've taken multiple GM transmissions over 200k miles, FWD and RWD, 4x4, etc. with tow duty, fluid changes are way cheaper than transmission changes. No need for boutique fluids either, I've been using Amalie full synth in my fleet for a while now.
  19. It's not bad for a OEM system. Way better than the Revel system in my old '17 Continental. My '11 Tahoe Bose had the same door speakers as my '09 Malibu LS with a base radio. WTF, speaker change made a world of difference in it with just basic aftermarket coaxial speakers when one went dead.
  20. I'm impressed with the 6.2. Getting 20 -21 highway on reasonably flat roads. Way better than the 16 -18 my old '11 5.3 Tahoe got on the same roads not to mention the big power difference. When shopping the EPA fuel estimates on the window stickers were the same for the 5.3 and the 6.2. Yeah premium recommended in the 6.2, I alternate between regular and premium with 1/2 tank fills. Premium only when towing. The power that is on tap with the 6.2 makes the premium penalty worth it for me.
  21. Lots of cold air going into that intake now. And you can just hear the powa now.
  22. 2x crap happens. I have an old friend who had to jack a car off his father when a jack failed, and it dropped on him. Sadly his father did not make it. Always use a jack stand, it only takes a minute to toss one in there.
  23. 2x on the Rino ramps. The 10k rated ones. Been using them for years on my old Yukon and Tahoe and no issues on the first oil change on my Silverado. Safe and secure. Put it in 4 low and all the trucks just creeped right up on them.
  24. The Chevy's in my sig. line are all within 1 pound of a tire gauge reading.
  25. Was on a solo run the other day and the Bose bass was enough to vibrate the HID display on the windshield. Good enough for me. I still like halfway decent sound in my golden years.
