  1. I will have to try that, don't have a way to measure tongue weight at the house so i will have to take it to the cat scale
  2. Hello I was looking for some pointers on towing a travel trailer for a long trip Truck: 19 Silverado 1500 LT crew cab 4x4 Payload: 1979 Max tow: 9879 (gvwr-curbweight) Camper: 30ftx10ft travel trailer (outside dimensions) Empty wight: 5350 Loaded weight: 7530 The day I picked my camper 100miles away from home I decided to not to use a weight distribution hitch (very bad idea) I was swaying so bad had to slow down to 45 on some streachs luckly I was on back roads. I was so surprised that a camper almost half the weight my pickup is rated to tow was causing me to sway. Nevertheless I ordered a WDH the second I made it home. But my ordered got cancelled few times so I ended up buying the harbor freight one which looks identical to curt. I also bought the sway bar. Set it up exactly like the instructions said and after watching 10s of videos. And I got dialed down really good. Now I took it down the highway for some test runs going 55~60mph it felt alright as long as there is no cars passing. Back roads going 55 even 65 cars passing me the opposite direction has almost no effect on the sway. But for some reason cars that over take me down the interstate made the truck ass squirmy. These test runs were done with only me 200lbs and my son 150lbs in the truck. Camper was completely empty. I towed lots of heavy loads with this truck. Loaders excavators all in town, granted I didn't go faster than 55 or even 50. I never experienced what I am experiencing with my camper. Maybe because most my towing were short distance maybe because my camper is an empty 30ftx11ft sail My questions are: 1. Is this normal? And just have to deal with it? 2. Is this too much load for my truck? Especially for long distance 3. What would you do on a windy day or a ND day? It is always windy here 4. During rain and weather in general is the norm to pull over and wait? Just wondering what everyone doing in general and if someone have a similar setup and have story to share. Thanks, Moe
  3. does the 1" leveling kit leaves any rake, I would like to keep some rake but not as much.
  4. I hear mine humming even my 65yo dad with his weary ears commented on my compressor wine. Its is not so loud and the AC still blows cold so I am not going to bring it on till it get worse. It's been like this since beginning of summer and it didn't get any worse so far. O also I have the 5.3.
  5. I think you are right. I am pretty sure I would love the 6.2 if I tried it. Interestingly enough it is the only engine I have never driven before. But again I don't think I would complain if I have extra hp. It kinda of like having more money or a bigger wiener (there is no such a thing)
  6. Agreed. I usually have to put my hand on the display otherwise I won't be able to back out of my drive way. I live in rural area and we don't have street lights so the issue is amplified. Is the HD camera dimmable or aft least dims at night?
  7. I have 5.3 8sped LT 4wd crew. I really love this power plant combo. Never felt its lacking power. Unless I am towing 9000lbs but honestly towing 9000lbs with these truck is pushing it and I won't want to do it regularly, once in a while it's okay.
  8. 19 5.3 4WD crew cab 8spd. Last 3 tanks I averaged 18mpg +/-0.3 this is what the computer says. I am pretty pleased with this number as my previous truck(13 F-150 crew 4x4 5.0) was unable to achieve 16mpg.
  9. Holiday because I got card when I bought my truck to get 10cents off and 5 dollars car wash (touchless usually cost $11) and put 87. I wish my truck can take flex fuel because it is cheaper and my old truck felt peppier using e85
  10. I thought the mechanical part basically an oil pressue controlling a collapseable lifters ( can't be turned off unless u replace part of the head and new lifter. Very invasive process). But I could be wrong
  11. The thing is part of the system is mechanical. If shutting the electrical part off while leaving the mechanical part stock the guy would think it might have some bad side effects. No?
  12. Do you have a rack now?
  13. If the vent selection is only on feet it will blow on both feet and defrost(windshield). to shut off defrost you will have to put it on face and feet. Not sure if this is a cool feature or a defect. Either way.
  14. Finally got mine done last Thursday. And what a different. The down sides. The dealer managed to scuff the handle on the shifter They really trashed the truck greasy foot prints all over the door sill Pretty sure the dashboard was used to put tools on. Left me couple of scuffs there too Over all it operate much better and it does not wobble anymore.
  15. I would get this https://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Qi-Certified-Charging-Compatible-Qi-Enabled/dp/B079KZ49PJ/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?keywords=wireless+charger&qid=1581865174&sprefix=wireless+&sr=8-3 And do this with it I like to do thing the cheap way as long as it doesn't hender functionality and look.
  16. Check the front mudflaps. Mine were rattling have the GM mud flaps
  17. Guess its time to take a bath.
  18. If the engine is off due to the auto start stop the power steering still work
  19. No kidding. It use to be fire up and go, now a day there is few rituals before you stick it in drive
  20. This is sharp dude. I like the black bumper and grill
  21. Lol yeah it is based on temperature I see the darn message every day when I leave my garage. Wish those messages were being displayed on a single line at the bottom of the screen. That one and the auto start stop is disabled (I know it it is disabled. I pushed the bloody button)
  22. I like the wheels can you post a closer photo?
  23. I noticed the same thing on the sides (mirror vents) but didn't noticed the one from the windshield vent I usually switch it to feet only. But I also run it at 75°F
  24. Yeah when I was wiping down the truck after the car wash and it was -20°F I seen the shutter closed. But mine is a 5.3
