Well my beautiful GMC hard rolling cover got ripped off and then slammed back into the bed during high winds in Rapid City, SD. Luckily it slammed in hard and stayed because we had a long drive left to Kansas City with a bed full of expensive cargo. The owner of my dealership is going to bat for my warranty claim with GM. If my warranty claim is denied I won't do the rolling cover again. They don't seem as robust as the folding or retractable options. I guess the upside is that my carbon pro bed is already drilled and speed nuts installed for the next cover.

Does the 3.0 diesel consume any oil? Our AT4 has 300 miles and my wife will be taking it on a 1,200 mile trip in a couple weeks. I'd like her to have a quart with her in case it gets low. This Dexos D stuff is impossible to source locally. And I can't get just a single quart on Amazon. My first oil change is free at any GMC dealer (wonder if this includes Chevy dealers) and thereafter I will change my own with the Mobil 1 EXP X2 assuming other brands like Rotella don't come on the market.

Yeah I had no clue what an AT4 was. My 4 previous trucks were 3/4 Chevy LTZ diesels. Starting looking for a truck and really like the Trail Boss. We need memory seats and all the safety packages though so the TB wasn't an option. Also really wanted the 3.0 diesel. Discovered the AT4 and spent hours trying to find one. Finally lucked out. Now that I think about it last winter I started seeing the new 3/4 ton Chevys and GMCs on the street. Didn't care for the looks of them but did see a white one that caught my eye. Pretty sure if was the GMC AT4 2500HD.

That dark sky is really nice. Might have been my color if one was available. The Satin Steel looks a lot better in person. Pictures make it look boring gray.

Bought a '20 AT4 diesel about a week ago. Love the truck. It rides rougher than I would like over potholes and bumps though. Maybe it's because I drove some RAMs before I purchased. I did lower the tire pressures to what the door sticker calls for. A set of rear Bilstein 5100s for my truck is $180 and the install looks very easy. So I would like to hear some feedback from '20 AT4 owners that have put in the rear 5100s. The majority of the miles on our truck will be 80 mph interstate (I-90) with quite a bit of gravel and dirt roads once we reach our place in Montana. Thanks.

Luckily the previous deal I mentioned didn't materialize. I found a satin blue metallic AT4 carbon pro diesel with all the packages. That's the color I really wanted. I figure for a hard to find AT4 diesel this was about as good as I was going to get.

A few days ago I bought a '20 AT4 diesel. August 2020 build. Dealer put the boxed REV tonneau cover I purchased in the back and deployed the load stop. The heavy box was just long enough to prevent the tailgate from closing. When I got home I was shocked to see that the load stop had closed on it's own. Tonneau box slid forward and load stop shut when braking I presume. Luckily my $1,000 tonneau cover was still there. Probably because I trying to see how good of mileage I could get. I played with the load stop for a while to see if there was a locking mechanism. Really surprised there isn't. Makes it a worthless feature unless the cargo is long enough to keep it from closing shut.

Mine was washed out when I picked it up from the dealer. I then activated the connected part through Onstar and the navigation looked fine. I suspect it will go back to being washed out when my 30 day trial is up.

Forgot to mention the straps. They are attached to two of the clamps. Remove them and attach them to one of the Torx screws on the front of the bed.

I installed the REV hard folding cover today on my AT4 Carbon Pro. Got it from my dealer at cost as part of my purchase deal. It fits great. I read all 12 pages of this thread several times and I wasn't exactly sure the best way to install. So I'll tell you how I did it. You cannot use the clamps that come with the cover unless you use a hole saw in your Carbon Pro bed. I didn't want to do that. So you either need to cut notches in you rails or drill holes. I chose to drill holes. Hardest part is figuring out where to drill. Here are the steps that worked for me to get a clean and tight install. It fits better than previous REV folding cover's I've installed on 3/4 ton Chevy trucks I've owned. I attribute this to a tighter fit of the rails since they are bolted in without clamps. 1. Buy this 25 pack of speed nuts from Amazon (you will use 10 of them) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00C3MUY9K/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 2. Go to a decent hardware store and buy M6 1.0 thread flanged bolts in 1.25" length (you need 12). 3. Grab some decent sized washers as well. You won't need them if you measure and drill perfectly but that's unlikely. 4. For the speed nut install and rail cap drilling, follow the instructions for the GM hard folding cover that fits the Carbon Pro (the rear most holes have a nut welded on from the factory so no speed nut needed on those two) 5. You will need a drill guide for the 12 holes in the top cap. My dealer gave me on that came in the hard folding cover kit for the Carbon Pro. Some guys have make their own. You could probably eyeball and drill bigger holes. The rails will cover them anyway. 6. For measuring the rails for drilling you will need a helper. My wife sat in the bed with a sharp pencil and a ruler and marked on the rails where to drill while I help the rails tight in place. She then marked on the back of the rail the best she could where I should drill. 7. We started with the rear most hole that has the nut in place from the factory. I drill a small hole first and then we would put the rail back up and use a flashlight to see how it lines up. I would finish with a 9/32" bit. If the hole doesn't line up you will need to adjust the hole size (this is where the washers come in handy) 8. After you have drill all six holes in the rail put it on and have your helper hold it tight while you start hand threading the bolts (and washers if needed). An open end ratcheting wrench comes in very handy here. My bolts were 10mm. Yours might be different. Have your helper push down on the top of the rail in the area of the bolt when you do you final tighten. Get all six bolts hand threaded before you start tightening. 9. Once you have the rails installed follow the rest of the instructions that came with you cover to install and adjust the cover. You will not use any of the clamps that came with you cover. If I did this again I would install the adhesive gasket first and take it completely across so the gasket is under the front of the rails as well. We had to cut small pieces to go under the front of the rails. I'm guessing will have to do some black silicone from the inside to make it more waterproof. If you are impatient like me and try to do this by yourself or when you are tired you could have a shi_ show on your hands. Take you time and make sure you measurements are good before you drill.

I don't think so. Today I bought the Rev had rolling that is made by BAK. The rail attachment point is too wide and the bolt would be in the way. That's why guys are drilling and notching holes in the rail. I'm going to look hard at Matt's custom brackets

I just bought the GM hard rolling cover for my AT4 carbon pro. Parts guy said once I open the hardware bag I cannot return it so I want to make absolutely sure how to install this. I've read this entire thread and have a few questions. I ordered the bag of 25 speed nuts from Amazon and I'll have them tomorrow. Dealer gave me the bed cap drill guide that they used on the GM hard folding cover for the carbon pro. Drilling the 10 holes in the caps looks easy. I understand the speed nuts and how to install them. When I install the rails can I use just the outside portion of the clamp with some M6 1.25" bolts? It looks to me that is how the Lomax installs. Or do I need to notch the rails like the super clean install posted a few pages back? Or should I just buck up for Matt's custom brackets even though I don't have a clue how those work. I refuse to drill holes in my carbon bed. Thanks for any advice.

Sad. I've seen 10 year + RAM wok trucks with the satellite radio. You would think making it standard would make the manufacture plenty of money from Sirius/XM

Picked up my new 1500 AT4 Carbon today. It has factory NAV. Love the truck. Not that impressed with the infotainment and issues. Was expecting the truck to have Sirius Travelink. It does not. I was able to download the weather app and I see that the navigation displays fuel prices but I suspect that will all go away when the Onstar trial expires. Is there any way to get the Sirius Travelink on my truck. My previous Chevy HD trucks all had it. I asked the Onstar rep and she was clueless. Cant wait for the day when factory NAV is no longer shoved down your throat on higher trims and to be able to use wireless Apple Carplay. Thanks for any input.

Might buy an AT4 tomorrow with the Carbon Pro bed. I've seen the Youtube videos on how to modify the install for the hard folding cover. I'm assuming the rolling cover rails install the same. Anyone installed a REV or BAK rolling hard cover on their Carbon Pro bed? Thanks.

Build sheet says "build plant G" which is Silao, Mexico. I'm calling to get my deposit back tomorrow. Found an AT4 diesel at a different dealer that is actually on the lot. Premium color and has Sunroof and Carbon Pro so going to cost me a couple grand more if I decide to buy it. Can't believe I am even considering paying this much for a 1/2 ton.

Hey guys. Congrats on the new trucks. I put a deposit on a '20 AT4 diesel yesterday that the dealer said would be on the lot in less than a week. I was relieved because I need the truck by 9th as I'm leaving town for a couple months. I had GMC customer care send me the build sheet and was bummed to see that the build date is 8-19-20. Am I correct to assume that this truck won't arrive to my dealer in St. Joseph, Missouri until the end of September at the earliest? I guess I'll get my deposit back and start looking for a 2021 in November.

If you have a trade I highly suggest you see what Carvana will give you for it. It only takes a few minutes and you don't even need to create an account. Just an email. We had no intention of getting new vehicles right now but I checked the KBB prices and was shocked how high trade in was. So we are selling both our cars to Carvana. A 2020 Telluride SX AWD and a '19 Hyundai Kona Ultimate AWD. People are COVID crazy on what they are willing to pay for used cars. Also if you send an email to [email protected] asking for you build sheet on the VIN they will send it to you. I did that yesterday after I put down my deposit and they sent it within two hours. The build sheet will tell you when the truck was built. If it's been sitting on the lot a while they will probably be motivated to move it. Especially since it sounds like it was ordered the nigh of their Christmas party ? You may have already found it but the educator pricing builder has a detailed build configurator so you can go in armed with exactly what the educator price is on that truck. And they aren't allowed to charge more than $75 for the doc fee. I think you stand to get them to move a fair amount below the educator pricing since the truck is a double cab. I'd try to get them to do invoice minus holdback. Holdback is 3% of MSRP (not including destination). When I was looking at a RAM Longhorn diesel the dealer was going to order one for us at invoice less holdback. Yes you can stack it on top of the 6k inventive. But you cannot stack it on top of other incentives like business owner, military, first responder, employee, etc. You should be able to get a great deal on an RST unless the 6.2 makes it rare. I got bent over the barrel because I had to have an AT4 diesel which are harder than hell to find. Good luck on your negotiations.

Newbie here from Kansas City. I've owned a handful of Chevy HD diesel trucks over the years. Looking to get a 1/2 ton AT4 diesel. Finally found one that has the options I want. Price is not the greatest at 1,700 over invoice less the factory 6k incentive and the teacher discount. I saw this morning that GMC extended the 6k in incentives on Sierra 1500s to 9-8-20. Chevy extended their 5k in incentives on the Silverado 1500s to 9-30-20. Now I understand there are probably a lot more Chevys out there but I don't understand the Sierras only being extended for six additional business days. I'm having a hard time swallowing 55k for a 1/2 ton truck. But I need a truck. Anyone know whether the details and pricing on the 2021 Sierras are coming on 9-9-20? I don't keep vehicles past the 3 year bumper to bumper and am worried the half ton diesel resale will be terrible compared to the 3/4 ton diesels I am used to.
