  1. i would take the stock shaft to a driveshaft specialist, they have special machines to balance them to a tighter tolerance than GM mass production balance work. using the HPT software, have you tried isolating the vibe theory by completely disabling the TCC function in all gears and in V4 mode first? could also be getting lugging from a zeroed slip table, or too early of a gear shift..
  2. my nieghbor had used 2012 GMC 2500 with low milage 40K, just sold for $34,000. talk about holding value... he paid $38,000 in 2011
  3. the vibes might be coming from the stock torque converter and NOT the shaft..
  4. so you can run Alcohol(ethanol) based fuel, the stock truck ecu has the fuel/timing mapping for the e-85 sensor ready to go, no tune needed , but you need a tuner to switch it on in the ecu if the truck never had it installed from GM. this is the cheapest power upgrade you can make besides the activation of PE in the ecu.. you can expect to get 8-10mpg with PE and on e-85. stock motor should be close to 390-400hp on this alone.
  5. supercharger is great too, but has issues for daily driving IMOP.. and will cost $8-10,000 done correctly, and made reliable.. If your after 80-100hp the cam option with DOD delete, and e85 sensor and tuned is the way to go, $4-5000 both options will require you finding a quality shop thats experienced, and not gonna mess up your driveline, make sure they have Liabilty insurance on workmanship and atleast a 1-3 month warrantee

  7. from real engine dyno test , there isnt any much power to be gained until you get past 4500 rpm with the L83 manifold and stock cam. you need to add more fuel to meet the extra bump is airflow up top, the next thing to adjust is the PE, Power enrichment needs to activate at 60% throttle on the truck, this is "free" 10hp ,GM disables on factory trucks. DOnt use a hand held tuner, take it to someone who has HPtuners . the next cheapest power adder is the e85 retrofit kit if your missing the sensor, cheapest 20-30 hp you can buy then next big bump in power is the L83 BrianTooley stage 3 cam as it will surpass the top end airflow of the stock cam, and complliment the L86 manifolds higher flow. engine dyno made 40-50 hp with the stage 3 and zero loss to the bottom end. after this is done , I would do long tube headers and catless exhaust... retune... should be able to make 100hp with the right bolt ons, your almost there. dont stop now!
  8. get the take offs from a base model 2021 truck , those are 17"x8" alloys, with 50 miles on the tires for $550 on CL https://losangeles.craigslist.org/lac/wto/d/jurupa-valley-2021-chevy-silverado-rims/7296465590.html the Raptor uses a 17" rim on BF Goodrich KO2 315/70/17 so apparently 17" is good enough for race trucks
  9. email HPtuners they will tell you what you need to do... your better off tuning the v6 to run chinese turbo in place of the muffler, then install new tuning into the ecu and tcu. is a 400hp v6 is better than a 5.3 no..? i would guess 5.3 injectors and fuel pumps is all you need to upgrade , could install 6.2 fuel system into the v6 truck and have more fuel than you will ever need until you add more boost.
  10. the oem tires are all garbage, i remember the 20" chinese rims GM put on the truck came with eco tires, those POS would chunk off in pieces on the tread side. cheaper to sell them all as take offs for $500 and buy new rims and BFG's for $1200, minus the value of what you can get off craigslist
  11. stumbled into this one, had to share it....enjoy
  12. what kind of rubber conditioner spray do you use? armorall , 303 protectant, etc. etc.....? might want to get a set of tire covers from harbor frieght $10 and keeps the sun off them when parked
  13. techm might be bad, or its got an internal leak , either bad piston or tranfer port seal is leaking where the techm mates to the case ports
  14. Just wondering whats hot out there, post up some crazy music vids that get you going!
  15. or bolt in the rear third row seat from a Suburban into the bed of the truck, and they can feel the breeze blowing thru their hair
  16. GM seems to be sabatoging thier products as usual, they are famous for doing this, you can thank the Feds and thier EPA mandates on your short transmission lifespan. definatly do a trans learn at the dealer, and the thermostat delete. but it needs tuning or else they damage themselves in stock form by 85000 miles the 6l80's are bad ass when tuned and built with good parts and gone thru. many guys pump 600-900 hp thru them. if you stick with it you'll be happy when its dialed in. Call Prescion transmision he's on youtube and shows the rebuild process. he's #1 trans shop.
  17. make sure you use the specified bolts for 6L90 converter or the 6l80, if any are too long you will dimple the TCC clutch face area and loose lock up grip
  18. must be a ton of heat at that point of the piston huh? oil must be breaking down fast when trapped in this spot of the piston. i wonder if they added a tiny hole in this area , would this improve the movement of cooked oil flowing or drainaged from the Lands between rings?
  19. what do they look like on the cylinder side and down the intakes? anychance you got ebay or paypal account for a legit sale?
  20. check out the Tundra and the funky Titan too ford v6 is a disaster to own long term, lease em all (Ford, Chevy, Dodge) and trash after 6 years. support is gonna be going away fast , 2030 is roughly the end of 1500 trucks...
  21. why wont they make em roll up with the fob too? come on GM...
