  1. entering my data this pops up, i hope this has the upgraded parts in it https://floridatorqueconverters.com/Torque-Converter-77-JMBXSD.html
  2. should the 5.3 trucks be using the v6 converter then?
  3. i would never own a T1 they are ugly , and just to tune one is a fortune.
  4. mostly towing, and using manual 4th or 5th gear, also disable auto grade braking when towing by holding tow haul for 6 seconds. , never use it in 6th. it shouldn't work in 2nd from a stop because 2nd is Winter mode, starts off in 2nd and needs to be shifted manualy. winter mode is my fav for dirt trail ans loose sandy soils or gravel dont forget to remove the thermostat in tranny for that long haul otherwise you'll be rebuilding it at the end of trip
  5. ok, not sure I would want to waste good money overpaying for a new RST or z71, I figured the T1 chassis are still fairly similar to a k2xx being so close generation wise.. but i see THere are other ways to go about it. not using GM parts. I just figured they put in a little more engineering the kit than aftermarket but i'm usually wrong. also wondering what would the opinion be on a spacer lift vs a Knuckle lift?
  6. try a double clutch converter , i like the stock 1900 stall, or even cheaper is the zl1 or boosted caddy converters 2200 stall, $350. tune out the convrertor lock up until 4-6th gear if its 6 speed. zero out all the clutch slip parameters in the transmission, reduce torque management by 10% , disable v4 mode, delete trans thermostat, and remove the airbox restricton panel between the fender and box, install lt5 tb and 6.2 manifold.. activate Power enrichment at 60% throttle. i think the factory manifolds are fine, just make a custom exhaust minus the cats and flapper valve, also the T1 truck has upgraded front rotors and calipers
  7. not really , e85 on factory tune will yield this
  8. i need lift blades, lol it could have be caused by strapping it down like you said, leaf springs would be a starting point
  9. you'll also want to get transmission software for re calibrating the shifts, i forget the name, its free online when you find it. keeps posting your findings. i think its bluecat egr function is built into the v-tec software, look forward to seeing some new edits for this... dont get sucked into making huge power, just work on improving the oem software and making your tune rock solid reliable without weird glitches, and can handle various climate conditions.
  10. i have stock 2WD with Gov lock ,2016 LT truck, looking to do some gold prospecting and exploring here in California and AZ , so I travel lots of dirt roads, I'm scraping a lot in the ruts and need a 2-3" lift, but dont want to change my stock wheel tire combo i noticed several new 2020 rst trucks sit much higher than mine and wonder if GM has done a lift on these vs My LT truck? i do like the front camera option, as i can never see where i'm going when i round the top of a hill for decent..
  11. i think GM relized no one likes auto stop/start or DoD v4 in a powerful gas hog. i bought my truck to burn fossil fuel and increase the global warming for our friends in Alaska, doing my part to make 'AMerica Great Again!
  12. just wondering what are GM's numbers for front and rear lift parts, I see the RST sits about 3" higher than a LT 1500, what else is different
  13. ok, yeah you get the shudder right after V4 is active, this will also happen on the 6 speed but the gm engineers figured out if they increased the TCC lock slip rpm to about 20-30 rpm slip , this smooths out the shudder, i discovered this when i was zeroing out all my tcc slip tables , but never touched the v4 slip table it was stock. then i zeroed it and I got a lot of shudder and shakes when i activated the v4 mode .. get a hpt uner or have a trans tuner add slip to the v4 slip table for tcc
  14. trade it in on a vintage pick up like a 1970 GMC shortbed https://losangeles.craigslist.org/lgb/cto/d/la-puente-1970-gmc-short-bed-truck-350/7330574392.html
  15. HPtuners forum, this forum isnt technical. also if its on this forum before try using google search instead of this one for this site. google is better for finding old topics
  16. so you tow a generator on a trailer to power the ev for long haulin?
  17. whats gonna happen when gm goes full ev truck?
  18. i just greased my steering joints on my 2016, yes there are noe zerks so i was forced to use a grease gun needle and penetrate the boot, just 4-5 pumps and the dust boots are full o'grease
  19. i would get a vented breather for the valve covers, look on youtube, theres a guy on there from mexico did a vented moroso valve cover system for our trucks.. something is jacked up on your install, not venting the crank case and blowing out seals, contact the installer of the kit
  20. did someone install a catch can too? if so did it come with an extra PCV check valve?
  21. i wouldnt even take that purdy truck on a dirt trail..... whats he got $8000 in lift parts into it.?
  22. read the installation PDF manual for the supercharger kit, it will tell you whats up with your pcv routing
  23. the outside diameter dictates the lift you get from a tire, not the rim size. smaller rim is better because it softens the ride and reduces unsprung weight , better handling and shock control, resist impacts, cheaper tires my truck came with the 20's, they where horrible, sold em for 500 bux with bald tires, i'm currently running 18" oem z71 rims, but just picked up a new set of WT 17" alloys for testing.
  24. from what i've read 33" is the limit before UCA and offset adapters, etc... I would get the z71 rims or the alloy WT rims, lots of meat on those tires for impact absorbsion VS the goofy 20-22" junk
