He wants to list out everything he can't turn off, but won't list things he did turn off. My guess is he doesn't want to answer because he has a work truck and there isn't anything to turn off.

I envy your patience, my friend! If this were my situation I'd have either asked the dealer to buy it back or lemon-lawed it by now. Whatever happens in the end I hope you're completely satisfied!

I think there might be a new part. I took mine in at the end of May to get the TSB performed and the part they put in was a different number than the TSB called for. I was worried it was wrong, but I've been on two trips towing with my solar on and haven't had a single issue since. I wouldn't necessarily think you'd need the "new" part, but who knows if they can mark your recall as complete with the older part number.

Has anyone who has the Y172 update experienced any new issues? I had this done a month or so ago on my 2024 3500 and it seems to have fixed some of the previous issues I was having, but ever since the update Bluetooth calls have a loud intermittent popping noise. The noise isn't present during Bluetooth audio, just calls.

I tow a relatively light camper, and our big trip last year pulling up a consistent grade over the mountain with outside temps at 100 I saw transmission temps top out at 203. I don't think 215 with a 5th wheel sounds too unreasonable. Mine is a gasser with the 10 speed.

I'm pretty sure it's just tucked up under the spare tire and is plug-n-play. Edit: Never mind, I realize now you're referring to the actual brake controller and not the control module.

Sorry to hear, that's really frustrating. I'd maybe ask the dealer if they'd help you out and buy it back at this point considering the price and how many major issues you've had. I had an issue with a 2018 Tundra with about 8k miles and my local dealer actually ended up buying it back for what I'd have gotten going the Lemon Law route (without actually having to Lemon Law it). Whatever happens, I hope it all gets resolved to your satisfaction.

I'd have said it might be the power steering pump, but that's usually only noticeable at idle and goes away under throttle. Does it sound like a vibration? Maybe some loose trim rattling around?

Could be. There's a whole thread regarding rear diffs on these trucks being under-filled from the factory (mine included), so that might have contributed to it. Hopefully the new part takes care of it for you!

I have a 2024 3500 gasser and also notice this every once in a while when it shifts in lower RPMs (around 1500-2000). What I really notice is the hard downshifts when in stop-and-go traffic on a slight decline, typically in line at a stop sign. Sometimes it will violently downshift making it feel like I got rear-ended. Do you also get the "whine" noise in gears ~3-7 starting around 35mph under light acceleration?

I don't have any personal experience, but it seems like the max size on stock suspension with no rubbing is 295/65r20, which is almost an inch narrower than 35/12.5. Some people even report rubbing at full lock with the 295/65s, so 35/12.5 will probably be a bit too wide on stock suspension if you don't want to deal with rubbing.

I think they look pretty good, but what I really like is that they're "OEM" and hub-centric without some crazy offset. The only thing I dislike about my stock 20s on my AT4 is that they're not 18s, otherwise I like the look.

The AEV GM HD Salta wheels (which come on the AT4X AEV) were just made available through AEV's website. They're cheaper overall per wheel vs ordering through GM, but a dealer near me actually comes out cheaper ordering through the GM Parts site with the 20% off promo they have right now. Just thought I'd report back regarding the 85073615 part number as a replacement for the 23306694 number listed in the TSB for this brake controller issue in case anyone gets this fix in the future. I just completed a 400 mile round trip towing with the solar still connected and had zero brake controller issues, so it appears as if this new part number is correct.

Thanks, Dude. I understand part numbers changing—I was just wondering if the part they used was, in fact, the correct part (i.e. newer version of the part instructed to be used in the TSB), or if it is just the "bad" 2024 part they threw in again.

So I finally had my dealer take care of this when I had my truck in to perform the tailgate recall, but when I got home I noticed the part number on the service invoice (85073615) is different than the 23306694 listed in the TSB. Can anyone who has had this fix done recently confirm the part number used? We have a trip coming up later this week so I'll find out for sure then, but I'm wondering if the dealer just replaced the module with another bad one. Edit: I just did a bit more research and gmpartsdirect shows the 85073615 as replacing 23306694. I'm not sure if that is just the normal bad 2024 part showing as a replacement to the old 2023 and earlier part, or if this is the updated 2024 part used to fix the issue... Tagging @newdude in case he knows.

I'm pretty sure they just reach out to your dealer and set up an appointment. Any escalation probably happens through the dealer. Someone correct me if they've had a different experience.

Could be. Mine only did it around 2k RPMs, but I suppose if the gap is large enough it could do it at idle as well. Could be something totally different, though—good luck!

I had two 5.7 Tundras before my 2024 L8T. Last week I finally drove one of the new twin-turbo V6 Tundras, and that fake engine noise they pump through the speakers is pretty hilarious (and annoying).

The flange with the gap in the picture is right after the exhaust manifold.

Might sound weird, but check your exhaust flange connections. I had a whistle when I first bought my truck, but it was only at around 2k RPMs. The dealer was no help, so I crawled under the truck and had my wife rev it up and I found a gap in one of the flanges. It was a pain to tighten it up, but it stopped the sound. Yours sounds more pronounced than mine so it might be something else, but it wouldn't hurt to check.

Sorry to resurrect this from the dead, but did you ever resolve this? My 2024 gas 3500 is making a weird noise at times around these same speeds right before/as it's shifting. I know if/when I take it into the dealer they either won't be able to replicate it or will say it's normal.
