  1. there is always something better next year. your 2019 is a fantastic truck that will do anything you ask of it. don’t fall into that trap!
  2. This must be one of those things where you didn’t know you needed it until you tried it, then after you had it once you cannot live without it. My WT headlights seem great to me??? but maybe if i drove an LTZ for a week I could never go back ...
  3. sumbitch can handle anything though!
  4. I would guess 17, 16, and 15, with 17 being on a country road that goes gently downhill averaging 50 mph, 16 being on a country road that is generally flat averaging 50 mph, and 15 being mostly on the interstate going 70 eastbound with a smidge of a tailwind.
  5. as far as semi vs. pickup fuel economy, i suspect if you were to calculate the frontal area and drag coefficients and take a good look at exactly where the losses are coming from that their respective fuel economy numbers would not be so surprising. the weight and length of a semi are proportionally far greater than that of a pickup as compared to the frontal area. on the open road at highway speed, aero is going to be the biggest factor in fuel economy so the numbers posted previously are not that unreasonable.
  6. for those of us that grew up pulling the shift lever all the way down when we wanted to crawl in first ...
  7. have you ever heard of the “Internet?”
  8. The closest I've ever driven was a 6.2 diesel HMMWV. I can't say it was an inspiring ride, but I got a lot of good sleep on the hood ...
  9. that's great. I bought mine thinking I would never need to buy another truck, or at least that it would last 20 years. I think it will. Going to get a gas sipper for a daily and just count on my 6.0 truck to be there when I need it for many years.
  10. I paid about 35k for my base model crew 2500HD on an MSRP of 44k or so. Good not great, but with 30k for my trade I was able to buy the truck on a credit card so I got that going for me!
  11. I have a 72 K10 with a 396, I love it! They didn't make 4x4's with a factory big block, I had to clearance the firewall channel to get the distributor in and out, but other than that it fits pretty good.
  12. now they just need to make a turbo 6.2!
  13. i have a base crew gasser, 32k and no issues. i struggle to understand why gm would add complexity with the electronic assist, when my steering is perfectly fine without it.
  14. i paid 3500 for a snugtop mid-rise 6.5 bed with just about every option.
  15. just pretend it is a rock crusher muncie in your 454 chevelle, aka “melba toast.”
  16. if you need a diesel, there is nothing better. if you don’t, there is.
  17. could one theoretically just turn off or remove the digital assist to test this?
  18. this is why i like work trucks. great and informative post, for sure.
  19. My wife doesn't think I'm funny either.
  20. Wait 'til I tell him about my plasma cutter ...
  21. weird, i run a lincoln 225 off of mine.
  22. Nice. I lack the stones to try this sort of thing, but I nevertheless enjoy hearing about it.
  23. Save a few bucks and run nitrous. Someone's towed a travel trailer up Ike Pass on the bottle, I just know it!
  24. i like them, i actually got both of mine right! one is on a plow truck, lets me go straight to work. the other is on a hot rod, lets me get out of the driveway asap while the baby is sleeping. but nothing beats the remote start on my 2500hd. that is just the cat's meow right there!
