  1. LOL, wow. You really have a bias against the T1s. The 2022 interior looks class-leading to me. Especially since you can get a full digital cluster on LT and above. Ford and RAM aren't anywhere near that. Plus, the 13" rectangular screen is so much more functional than Ford's theater-sized monster, and RAM's vertical layout, IMO. GM's arrangement flows with the interior so much better, IMO. Did I say IMO?
  2. When I heard her say that, I was curious if the 30% of Z71 sales INCLUDED TrailBosses, which are indeed Z71's themselves. I know GM isn't mathematically novice, but they also know how to market and shade #s to their advantage. Then again... I see a LOT of Z71 trucks around here. I mean, why not? You get dual exhaust and a 2-speed transfer case with it for barely much more $ and the same MPG. So why not.
  3. No chance. They are placing the ZR2 between the LTZ and HC in the lineup. My guess is the ZR2 will start around mid-$60K. I believe Andre from TFL said the only option available on it is the multiflex tailgate... which is nice. I'm glad GM is finally just selling a truck loaded, vs. having to jump through all these wild hoops to option it up to where it SHOULD BE for the pricing. This is not a Raptor or a TRX, and GM knows that. They won't sell this thing over $70K MSRP, IMO. Because the HC with Super Cruise and a more refined interior will not be priced higher than the mid-$70Ks. Keep in mind they have the GMC line-up to reveal still. That's where you'll start to see things inch closer to $90K, IMO. I'm eager to see what they'll do with the AT4 Sierra. 100%. GM, IMO, read the #s after the wild payoff on the TrailBoss bet and realized that larger % of buyers don't want supertrucks. They want trucks that have high capabilities, great tech, and reasonable pricing. I think they have read the market much better than Ford or RAM on this one. ...plus, as mentioned above, GM's sales framework doesn't need a supertruck to maximize margins with lower sales volumes, like Ford and RAM do. They have the GMC line-up for that.
  4. If they opened orders today, I would put money on a ZR2 ASAP. GM FINALLY built a truck that is a reasonable every day TRUCK that is also off-road capable enough for moderate trails. Perfect set up for me. And finally glad they are offering so much of the tech in more trim levels, too. Can't wait to order a ZR2 to replace my 2019 RST.
  5. Yeah we bought a Pacifica Hybrid Limited. The interior lighting is fantastic. Kudos, Stellantis.
  6. Thanks, that's encouraging.
  7. I mainly opted for the Z71 package (vs. just a standard 4x4) on my RST because it gave me dual bumper exit exhaust, the wheel-well liners / bed liner and the skid plates. I have never really intended to take my truck into an off-road park, or into anything wild when it comes to muddy terrain here in TX. I've learned my lesson with that expectation in the past. But it sure performed awesome during our winter storm this past February. That's why I wanted 4WD. And the big win for GM trucks with 4WD is 4 Auto. It is just awesome. But yeah, the Goodyear Trailrunner ATs... I wouldn't trust them in much. Adding some beefier tires and I know the truck will do just fine in most low-to-moderate offroad situations.
  8. I have almost 18K on my Feb 2019 5.3L RST / 8spd. Just noticed this weekend some weird hesitations in my shifts around 30-45mph when I'm not on the gas very hard - but just lightly. I've learned to live with the 1-2 harsh shifts and the D-R-D clunks. But this is new. The closest thing I can relate it to is when I had an older car and the engine misfired really quickly leading to a split-second RPM drop and lag. I'm going to keep monitoring it. I never had the TSB fluid flushed on it, so maybe it's time.
  9. I noticed the local Ford dealer had a good bit of new trucks on the lot recently, too. And the Chevy lot is still largely empty. Odd. But yet I still see a lot of newly tagged Silverado’s and Sierras around. A few new F-150s. But not as many as GMs it seems.
  10. Yeah, I saw Intel said they think it's going to stretch into 2023. Yikes.
  11. Of course diesel will also go up. But when you're averaging 8-10mpg better in the 3.0L, your cost does not go up as quickly owning the diesel.
  12. I wonder what delivery levels are for Ford and RAM right now? It seems to me that when I see these news stories of parked trucks, it's always Fords. Maybe GM is avoiding this by doing feature deletes... whereas Ford is just choosing to park trucks until they get chips? IDK. It all depends on the architecture of the vehicle systems, I reckon.
  13. It can be easy to develop a perception that GM is getting hit the hardest, but the best selling vehicles in their lineups all bear a ton of similarity. They sell the most fullsize trucks and SUVs in the US, and those are the biggest profit centers for them. Therefore, they have to keep figuring out ways to get more and more of those babies out the doors of the plants.
  14. I love my 5.3L in my 2019 RST... especially with the GM Performance Exhaust and Cold Air Intake. But my next truck will have a 3.0L diesel in it. You just cannot beat that MPG. And gas prices are going nowhere but UP in the days ahead.
  15. They're not trying to educate people. Their stated mission in every video is “honest, real world reviews”. Not “educating you on how to use your vehicle”. This is the misional trade off they have made. And it seems to have worked pretty well for them, if you ask me.
  16. I, too, wonder what GM's response to this will be. It's pretty clear that altitude+grade+external temps+low speeds = overheated transmission. The note above about the truck being in 4A is also a great point. And count me among those who are pleased that TFL loads these trucks down, shifts to D and just hits the road. The average truck owner doesn't know the technical "tricks" of shifting to 4H in a situation like this. No one reads that much into the owner's manuals anymore.
  17. I don't have a RAM in my garage, but I do have a Pacifica with the new UConnect 5. It has a bunch of features my 2019 Silverado does not have, that's for sure. The main thing you hear out there is how the RAM just smokes the competition with their center stack. I like our Pacifica's set up, but I prefer the more simple interface on my smaller-screen Silverado. Also, the dial shifter... If my everyday driver was an FCA vehicle with this, I suppose I would get more used to it. But, wow, it is not intuitive. Congrats on the new truck, OP. I know you'll love your Denali.
  18. For real? I had a bitter back and forth with my dealer over them charging me $145 to flash the ECM after I personally installed the CAI... and now I could have just waited for the recall and had it done for FREE?
  19. True. And the adjustable air-ride suspension's increased travel also helps. That's a legit feature that's valuable when going off the pavement.
  20. Read my post above yours.
  21. Nice, OP! I was very close to pulling the trigger in trading my Silverado RST Z71 for an AT4 Yukon (I wanted the better interior tech and the eLSD rear). I just couldn't do it because the discounts were non-existent, and the residual on the big SUVs are way worse than the full size trucks. Also, I just couldn't envision my life without a truck bed.
  22. These things are not meant for real off-roading. They are meant for getting around comfortably, while also being able to navigate the rutty deer lease-type trails that most users drive these on. It's a 5800# giant. You can't take this thing up Black Bear pass. But it would work well and comfortably on the Alpine Loop, e.g. I've seen more Z71 Tahoes than any other trim here in suburban DFW. Mostly driven by women. GM went for the PERCEPTION of off-road here. That's what matters to a majority of Tahoe buyers. Not REAL off-road capacities.
  23. Lol yeah not many places us Texas owners can use this feature! There's one hill around me that I used it on once... for about 30 yards.
  24. Update on my end... Truck was working fine in 2WD, but the "Service 4WD" light was on every time I started the truck. And would keep putting the P brake on when I put it in P. I shifted to Auto once, but when I turned, it made a weird noise. Took it to the dealer. Here's what the repair sheet said: Upon disassembly found output shaft bearing snap ring to have popped off causing misalignment of shaft to move forward not allowing transfer case to shift. Inspected all other transfer case components and checked out ok. Replaced output shaft bearing snap ring and reassembled unit. Found system to be operating ok and drove and verified correction. So I have the truck back now, and everything seems to be working normal. We'll see if it all holds over time.
  25. It’s not too bad. I just had a Level 2 charger wired in for my wife’s Pacifica Hybrid. Ran 50a service from my exterior sub panel into the garage. $500 for the install. I had little interest in the idea of an EV truck until we bought this thing. It’s not even much of an EV since it still has a gasser in it. But man, the torque and acceleration of an EV with the CVT-style transmission is FUN.
