  1. Drove my truck without any radio/music on today, and most certainly heard this noise in the steering column again. Usually just at low speeds when I am really cranking the steering wheel to turn the truck. It's like some kind of weird blend between creaking leather and something ticking, you know? Only lasts about 1 second each time. No clue what it is. I'm not really concerned about it. I'll just "add it to the list" for whenever I go in to get my first oil change. If the dealer has had other people with the issue, I'll let them look at it. If not, I'm not going to waste my time having them try to fix it.
  2. LOL, they have probably the best Chevy website I've ever seen. https://www.carterchevroletok.com/
  3. Mine are 97/98% (F/R) after 1550 miles.
  4. Thanks! Didn't realize that. I tried scanning it with my iPhone, but it didn't read it.
  5. I just got my build sheet from the "[email protected]" folks. Very friendly! I have VTI on my 5.3L DFM RST. Didn't realize that!
  6. I think that will look excellent, actually. Post pics! I was considering doing my Satin Steel RST in black to match the other black on it, but felt it would stand out too much. But if a flat satin steel color came out, that would be something I would seriously consider.
  7. I haven't heard it again, actually. It's been a couple of days since I've driven the truck, so I'll pay attention today when I am out and about.
  8. Did yall know that ALL the power windows auto-down? I've owned my RST for over a month and just found that out this morning. I thought it was only the driver window, since it has the little "A" on it. I guess that means only the driver window auto-UPs.
  9. Agreed with this. Fits the TB well! Looks good!
  10. That’s no bueno. Sorry for your bad experience here. GM (via dealer) should fix this. I’ve never had this happen on my 2019 RST, but I do have the package with the HD rear camera.
  11. 12.5mpg in the previous 25mi? Ouch! Lowest I’ve been in my 5.3L is 14.6. ? also, buckle up man! ??
  12. My 8 speed sounds like it’s doing much of the same things being reported here. It’s not really all that concerning to me, and usually not too harsh either. But I think I judge the transmission with more scrutiny because it’s brand new and a brand new trans itself. Coming from a 4 speed with OD in my 2007, it’s also VERY different feeling to drive up to 60mph. Therefore, based on what I am reading here, I’m not going to take it to the dealer until there’s a real fix from GM with reported success by many owners. Until then, it’s under a 3 year / 36K warranty so I’ll keep enjoying it!
  13. Yeah, RST Z71 with 5.3L DFM here. Runs just a tick past the 210 line all the time, as others have reported. I don’t even remember now what my 2007 5.3L ran at now.
  14. Thanks, UGADawgs. I really like the idea of being able to leave my phone in my pocket and connecting right to CarPlay when I drive my 10-15 min drive home from work. That would be awesome.
  15. You're already a long way down a technological fix vs. your original question "Why can't we just do this via Bluetooth?" It is a truck radio, not a home network system with extra hardware. Give it time, I'm sure we'll see something in the next 5 years. I think it will come through an embedded app, though, not a faster wireless connection to the truck and phone.
  16. The tech is just not there yet... not in a truck, or beyond this. This is why you cannot AirPlay from your Computer to an Apple TV via a FaceTime call or phone call yet. The next step, I think, will be Apple or Android embedding apps IN the car systems, which run CarPlay natively, and not through your phone. Instead of using a cord to connect, you just connect your phone to the app running in the truck, much like Apple does with an iPhone to Watch.
  17. Yeah, get in line, OP. We're all having these issues with our 8 speeds. Lol! My issues have been like UGADawgs'... whenever I baby the throttle, I notice the harsh shifting more than when I just drive the truck with a little assertiveness. Had the SAME thing happen last weekend when putting the truck in R, then right into D... harsh thump in the rear right after I started moving forward in D.
  18. I respect the level of frustration you have, and your feelings towards General Motors perceived lack of interest in truly addressing the 8 speed issues. However, you have to remember that we are a very odd bunch on this forum. Most people who buy the new T1 trucks with 8-speeds are not going to notice any hard shifts, etc. Or if they do, they will not go out of their way to attempt fixing it. This is why GM still produce this transmission, even though there are negative experiences with it since they started using it in the K2 trucks years ago. A 2017 K2 has not suffered any decline in value for having an 8-speed vs. a 6-speed. I really doubt the T1s with 8 speeds will either.
  19. It's the same reason your laptop cannot connect to an external monitor via Bluetooth. There's just too much data being transferred at a high rate of speed. It has to be corded, since the radio turns into an external display for the phone when you use AA or CarPlay. I notice that my sound system is more robust when I plug the phone into CarPlay, and my calls are even clearer, too. Going corded - though I agree it's a bit annoying - has its benefits.
  20. I actually just heard an odd noise from my steering column when I was backing in my truck at work this morning. I'll have to listen for it again when I go home, but I did notice it and found it strange.
  21. I just like the green flag it shows in the DIC when I switch it on... ??
  22. Lol, that’s brutal. But he sounds envious and insecure... having to compensate constantly for driving an F-150. ?
