Here's an idea, get rid of the 8,000K bulbs.

I think I finally got the lights to aim the way I want them too. Last night i went out to get a calzone and wasn't exactly satisified with the way the lights were aiming. The sides were fine, sharp cut off well to the left of the road, but the front didn't look right. The brighter area was maybe only 10ft from the grill and was aimed down to low. So I adjusted yet again and seem to like the way they aim now. I did pass one vehicle on the road while testing them out and they didn't hi beam me, but I think did slow down a little to the right as I was passing them. My goal is to get anough light on the road and not blind oncoming traffic. I'm gonna attempt to see if I can photograph the light beam so the people that are familar with setting the lights can tell me if they are set right. These lights tend to light up a much bigger area and also higher up. There is straight cut off lines though, both on the sides and straight ahead. But I think the straight ahead is not exactly even.

I was right behind one of my suv's last night, and adjusted the concentration of light so that it is most concentrated just above the rear bumper (about 12") higher then the suv's bumper. However, I might have adjusted them too much to the left, but I did want to because I want to light up the woods so that I see the deer before they run out of nowhere. I have hit and taken down about 7 deer in the past 2 years because they ran out last second. Luckily no damage to my truck. It's hard to copy my BMW's light pattern cause it is not as high as my 2500HD and the BMW also uses projection lamps, not HID's.

I was thinking, maybe it's best to test light pattern against a building that is level and long and tall, like a rite aid or something. And maybe I'll be able to capture better images of the light pattern.

Yea with 8000k's, imo they are way to blue/purplish (depending on the manufactuer). I remember buying the halogen fake xenon's and came to a comclusion that the regular halogens worked best for me.

Hey guys ...

I have installed both High and Low beams with Rikensport 993 - 6000K HID kits. Paid about $125.00 shipped. Lifetime warranty on ballast and bulbs.

I chose 6000K, as it has a tint of blue, but is more close to a purer white. It is perfect on the factory buckets for the 03-07 classic, as it almost looks factory on my Silverado ... I have yet to have people flash me, thining I have my Highs on.

I also have done the 4 High Conversion, where both my Highs and Lows are on, when I'm in the "High Beam" position ... :)

Here are a couple pics ... They appear more blue then they truly are. They were taken at start up.

I like that hood on your truck. I think there also could be a way to do the highs on with lows from the switch on steering wheel. When I pull switch back and hold, the highs will stay on with the lows, and naturally when you push it forward lows go off and highs go on. So got me wondering what if it was taken apart and reversed? Highs would be on with lows and no need to buy conversion kit.

True ... I did the $1.00 Diode jump, in the Under Hood fusebox. Quick and easy. The conversions kits cost a lot ...

Thanks about the hood ... Goodmark Cowl Hood, Steel - GM Approved. It also has replica "Cowl Induction" emblems from a 1970 Chevelle on the sides ... :) ... Just enough "Twink" to set it apart ...

Your truck (Intimidator SS). I used to see one around town. Was always curious, can you light the wheels up really good stock?

So explain this diode jump in fuse box? This is a stable fix? What exactly is involved?

I really like your lights, and the Rikkensport package. However i looked on their website last night and could only find the low beam package? Nothing for highs? Also it only had the ballasts warrantied at 1 year?

The tail light conversion kit isn't that expensive. Go to mrtaillight.com. Its 40 dollars i believe for the 4 high/low combo. Then more if you have foglights for the switch to put in. Thats what i am going to go with.

Nope ... just a regular SS ... and the ISS are the same, except for having the Ernhart Headrests, the first to have the 06 hood, and the tailgate spoiler ....

the ISS can light up the wheels nicely ... as it is only RWD ... my SS is an 04 and it is AWD. I can't do a burn out ... But I can sure hookup and scoot ... :rollin:

As for the diode Jump ... Click the link ... Click Here ... Click Here ... (Read the whole thing)

Thanks for the link Hen Avenger. Looks like a nice site, thats where you got your lights correct. I think if i spent the money up and upgraded the high and lows, i wouldnt need the high 4 mod either. But could always add it if desired afterwards as well. Thanks, will add it to my 'to do' list! Ryan

For now I only bought the lows, was gonna add highs later on. However after adding lows and their ballasts, I have no idea where I would add the ballasts for the highs now, looks like I am out of room, at least room which i conder easy to get to. On DS, i mounted that ballast on top of support bar that runs acrosss battery, fits nice and snug. On PS I just turned ballast sideways and laid between reserve box and fender. I needed this ballasts loose, so that I can lift it up and place it forward so it allows more wire to take out bulbs (you'll see what i mean once you install the PS). I ordered the led projector halo headlights from another site. Just make sure you do not tough these bulbs under any circumstances.

I always thought the SS was the ISS. Those were some cool trucks GM made. Had i not needed a 2500 i would have had one, either that or another X5 (I love how BMW's ride).

I also put a HID kit in my truck and the light output is great I did it couple of months ago and can't remember if it was a 4000 or 5000 kit. All in all I am very happy with it. I was also vey happy with the light dispersion patter, in that it was the same as the stock, just brighter.

Hid headlights are cool,Everybody needs to have them,How much do you pay for them?

I paid about 100 bucks at the time. They still are working great. The one main point that would have to is make sure you adjust the light beam pattern so they are shining the way they are supposed to. Also if your truck is lifted or have larger tires they will raise the light beam so you need to adjust the lights. Overall still very happy with them. I almost forgot, also if you have a heavy load and the tail end sinks down a bit, don't forget to adjust your lights for the drive if it is a long on. My wife got a little pissed driving from GA up to Wash DC and my lights were in here eyes! After the first gas stop I adjusted the lights and it was good to go. Hope this helps.
