Nav Radio Question

I purchased a Nav radio out of a Torrent for a Equinox and it is not functioning properly. Anyone know how to temporally disable the theft lock like in the older body style trucks? I could pull the fuse for the radio and put it back in and it would work until the truck was started or turned off then back on.

I also wasn't expecting the back lighting on the radio to be red. Anyway to change that to the green to match everything else?

Thanks

Also does anyone know of someone who is experienced at reprogramming these radios? IE different software. When the radio powers up it shows the Pontiac symbol. I would rather the Chevy logo.

Thanks I got my fingers crossed that this site comes through for me.

There is nothing you can do about the red backlighting because your nav unit came from a Pontiac. The part numbers would be completely different. I would assume (I could be wrong) that your Pontiac symbol on startup could be changed by a trip to the dealer to get it programmed. That unit probably still has the VIN number from the previous car it was installed into. It's not a do it yourself job unless you own a Tech 2.

There is a small chance the Torrent and Equinox nav units aren't even compatible with each other. They may be physically the same size, but that doesn't mean they work sometimes. The Acadia units are incompatible with any of the GMT-900 trucks for example.

I am no expert though. Hopefully someone on here may know or talk to your dealer.

Yea, I hope that it is not incompatible with my Equinox. That would be very disappointing.

I am doing research on updating my '07 Sierra to Nav. There is an insane amount of part numbers out there and several manufacturers of these Nav units (Denso and Delphi). easy to get confused if you do it yourself.

Hope your unit works!
