00 Sierra 3rd Door

Ok so I was backing the boat in the water and my wife yells at me to get her crap out of the ext cab before I put her into the water and SNAP...there goes the 3rd door handle. My question is: do I have to replace just the door handle itself or is it some mechanism that connects the handle to the unlocking/unlatching mechanism? I know I should just tear it apart and find out but I would really like to have the parts I need to fix it on hand when I do tear it apart. I searched on here for tips but didn't find any. I'm sure mine isn't the only truck this is happened to. Thanks in advance, Kris J.

Just the handle. When you replace it, take some pics of the procedure and maybe write a few notes on the steps involved. Post it here. You might just help the next guy.
