Another Factory Alarm Question

anyone

have an 05 K1500 SL with factory security ?

how does yours work or what triggers it to set the horn off

 

I have same but with an aftermarket remote start that came with the truck

problem is I don't have the manual for the remote start.

but it works great

I have followed the alarm test procedure in the GM manual

security light flashes like its suposed to in the gauge cluster and the only thing that happens is the doors are completley disabled which is great but no horn goes off

 

when I hit the lock button twice on the after market remote the horn beeps park lights flash and the truck locks

when I hit the panic button the horn goes off so its hooked up no doubt

and the GM key fob works as well exact same way

I have checked the DIC settings and it is set to on for everything

as far as I can tell

I read a post saying someone else had passlock II only maybe thats what I have

and no alarm and the manual is generic ?

 

if anybody can give me some insight it would be appreciated
