Tire Pressure System

I've looked but can't find this discussed. Sorry if it has been.

I just bought a set of used rims with tires off a 09 Denali to replace a damaged set on my 07 Denali.

I noticed the value is different then my originals.

The old ones are all metal, these are rubber. They look just like regular valve stems.

I assume they are sending units for the TPS.

Was this tire pressure monitoring system an option ? I didn't think so.

So, if they are senders how do I calibrate them once I get the wheels on the truck so the computer knows which wheel is which?

Thanks again and sorry if this is described somewhere else.

They got rid of the metal stems due to oxidation issues.

You should be able to calibrate the new ones just like you did with your previous ones (calibration method is in the owners manual)

Thanks "skier". Was the TPS an option on this truck, do you know?

Pretty sure TPMS wasn't an option, it was just included. They were required to have so many vehicles on the road as time passed from when TPMS was first enacted. GM seemed to be ahead of the mandatory percentage of vehicles with TPMS.
