High Pitched Whistle With Billet Grille

Recommended Posts

I had an after market billet grille (from the dealer) installed and thought that it looked fine. The problem was whenever the truck reached 103 kph (60+ mph) a high pitched whistle would start and continue at higher speeds (up to 120 kph or 72 mph).

The dealer tech actually determined that it was the grille insert that was causing it by removing the grille and taking a test drive. I now have a spare grille insert sitting in my garage!

Has anyone else experienced a similar problem and is there a cure or work-around other than permanently removing the billet grille insert.

Hmm, never heard of that before. Could it be returned to the dealer? Maybe you could try an aftermarket one that looks similar?

I have had the same problem with my '02 Suburban and a billet grill, since the day of delivery and installation in May 2002!
