Hi, I was wondering what the payload capacity is on the HD 1500 Silverado's. I know my truck has the 14 bolt rear and the HD springs but, how much does that up the payload and towing capacity?

What are you looking to do with it? At 239k on the ticker, I would have to be concerned about loading that thing up too much.... Just an un-educated guess is that the capacities are probably upped around 400 pounds, from what I have seem on some other models.

... what does the drivers door frame sticker say for GVW of the vehicle...?

... I am thinking that it could say GVW 6600 lbs, in those years GM made the hd (or the F44 model) with heavier axle and heavier springs that increased the GVW about 400 lbs... whatever you carry or haul with that truck you still cannot exceed those axle weight ratings noted on the sticker in your truck.

... however this would not change the rated tow capacity of the truck which is likely about 6500 lbs for a 4wd (depending on the engine, I assume a 350/5.7L)... tow capacity is a subjective thing determined by the truck manufacturers based on a combination of engine, brakes, transmission, and cooling capacity... not suspension.

Not looking to tow or haul anything extremely heavy just wanted to know how much that increased the payload capacity. Even with 239k its still a great truck, the dependability is not based on miles but on how well you care for your vehicle.

And how far you push it's ability...

93 Silverado says: "Not looking to tow or haul anything extremely heavy just wanted to know how much that increased the payload capacity. Even with 239k its still a great truck, the dependability is not based on miles but on how well you care for your vehicle. "

.. the short answer then is +400 lbs payload and no change in tow capacity \

.. I agree that dependability is primarily based on the condition and maintenance on your truck .... Go Chevy ... Go GMT400 style, the best classic style Chev/GMC.
