Center Console Swap

I has the LTZ interior in my truck with the center console w/ the pocket and removable cup holders. I'm thinking about changing that pocket to the cup holder that is in the all terrains like the picture attached. Can you change out that pocket/cup holder and how much does that run?

That's ironic. I was wondering if I could replace mine with the LTZ one without having to replace the entire console.

It looks nice when the doors are closed, but the small one isn't big enough for anything except maybe some change or a pocket knife. And the cupholders are cramped b/c of the door that has to fold back next to them. I think the open one on the LTZ is more functional.

I like the All-Terrain/Denali console just fine. My sunglasses fit perfectly into the small bin area, and since I never have anything other than bottled water in the cupholders, they do fine.

I do believe you can swap that out without taking the whole console with it. It just clips into place like the rest of the dash trim, so you should be able to pop that piece out and acquire one from a different trim level to put in its place.

As far as what part numbers/costs are involved, that's better left to our resident parts guru(s).

I am trading my all terrain in in a few weeks......I just puchased a center console out of an avalanche with the exposed cupholders

I took the one out of my all terrain and swapped it with the one from the avalanche...its a direct fit

Funny, I was just going to make a thread about this. I have seen the Denali cup holders on ebay for about 150$, IMO thats not too bad of a price.

I would rather get the aluminum all-terrain one though, I really do not like the wood trim, and would rather not add more.

I think you can just stap it out like others have said, it does not look like a big job to replace.

I'm calling New GM parts today and I will get a price for the all-terrain cup holder, the dealer is usually twice the cost.

Thanks guys. From just looking at it the other day in the truck, it looks like it should just pop out but I didn't want to really mess with it. I have the wood grain in my truck right now. While I don't really mind it since the all black interior, I don't really want to add more. I would go with the black All-terrain compartment. I guess that brings up another question. I know that some of them have Silver accents, but from the pictures on GMC's site they also have a black center compartment. Is this true?

The Denali trucks use a similar centre console as the All-Terrain Sierras, and I did look into getting one straight from general motors. The Denali one though has a wood grain finish to match the wood grain in the doors and across the dash.

Cost I was quoted was $470 plus tax for the Denali one, Canadian. Hope that helps you.

did anyone ever get a part number for just the all terrain cup holder and not the whole console? i'm wanting to switch mine out to the all terrain one. they have the wood grain ones on ebay for 150 and i can't find the brushed aluminum from the all terrain one on there though. any ideas?

I find the one in my SLT 07 fairly functional. Only thing is the large compartment in the front gets a little junky. Would like a slide in to seperate for change and other junk. The picture attached kinda shows how mine is.

Either of these part numbers should work:

Are you going to sell the other console?? What color? I'd be interested...

Anyone ever order one of these? I would really like to have one in my SLT, but I don't want to be the guinea pig...

Lots of people have them. Popular mod for Z71 Tahoe/Suburban/Avalanche models that have the brushed aluminum look trim already, but just the open cupholder pod.

They switch out, one for the other, the basic black big & removable cupholder and the LTZ/All Terrain wood/silver covered pod. Same center console underneath, just a different pod sitting in them.

Thanks, I understand how they fit, just was hoping someone had actually ordered one with the part numbers posted and could confirm before I spend $150+.

Those part numbers I posted were pulled from a thread started by someone who did actually order the parts, so they are indeed verified correct.
