It's time to get rid of the POS tires that came on my new work truck, will 285/75R16 fit? They fit fine on the 2005 HD I just turned in, but it looks like it may be a tight fit on the new truck.

I have 265/75/16's and they rub at full turn with some compression. Flat ground no issues. I'm gonna guess you'll get more rubbing.

I'm still on the fence. I'm a surveyor and my truck sees heavy off road use on a daily basis. I've called a few tire places, but never got a definite answer. I'm not concerned about a little rubbing, occasionally, but if it does it every time I pull in and out of a ditch I won't be happy.

Thank you for your responses,

You'll be fine. We put some on a new '09 and cranked the torsion bars up some. The driver's tire rubbed the plastic inner fender skirt on left turns. We resecured the park brake cable and that took care of the rubbing issues. You could take a heat gun and warm up the skirt enough to re-contour it so no rubbing occurs while the suspension is jouncing.

Your rubbing is almost definitely due to the width/offset of your wheels.

Probably right, they just knick the inner fender where the inner screw for my mud flaps are. Never been enough to bother me.

I talked with a few people who have put 285's on a NBS HD, they have a lot of rubbing. I decided on 265/75-16's. I got the new Goodyear Dura Trac's.
