Adding Brake Controller To 2009 1500?

Can I have the dealer install the brake controller in my 09 Silverado 1500? I read that it couldn't be added to the 2007-08 models but didn't see anything on adding it to an 09.

Nope,can't be added to the '09s either.

A factory one can't be added like mentioned above but an aftermarket one is super simple to add.

I added one to my '07 (aftermarket, Prodigy), however it was not super simple. Had to find two taped leads near the firewall and hook them up to stud #1 and stud #2, in the right order, then put the fuses in. It didn't say where each one went, but I realized later, that one wouldn't fit, so it had to go on the other one, and took a while to find them too. The leads under the dash were impossible to find. I actually took it to the dealer, and he couldn't find it either. He called gm-tech., and we found the leads buried way up high, behind an air-duct. Was a royal pita, however on my wifes yukon, It was easy since I was 'experienced'. My '07 was early, so maybe they made it easier later?
