Operation Of Heated Seats?

Recommended Posts

Did a Search but keep getting an Internal Error for the Results. Anyway finally got cool enough here in the Deep South over the weekend to try the heaters the heaters out.

Question: is it a normal for the Seat Heaters to cutoff automatically after a while? I know the ones in my wife's '02 Jeep Liberty stay On till manually turned Off or the engine if shut down. Nothing in the Manual saying the auto shut off.

Thanks

So your saying that while your driving down the road they cut off on you while using them? Have you noticed how long they stay on?

I seem to remember reading somewhere they they kick off after like 10/15 mins. I am not really sure where I saw that but I will keep an eye out for it and get back to you.

Did you check the Owners Manual?

Edit: I looked it up and it shows nothing other than how to turn it on/off

I don't think they turn off after a certain amount of time, at least mine don't. Mine have been on for a hour or more and they never shut off.

Same here. It's been that way in all the trucks I've had with heated seats (several over the years)

Mine stay on as long as the vehicle is running after pushing the button

Yeah that's how I assume they should work. The Service Manager said he was pretty sure that they have a thermostat high limit built in but they should stay on if the button is pressed. Guess when I get time next week I'll have to have their functioning checked out.
