Makes good sense but he didnt tell us what the parts were called or where he got them.

 

Another note, I dont know if i want to take advice from a guy who has more then one dodge, and does not use jack stands while working under a vehicle. Never trust a hydraulic jack.

Copper Solenoid contacts - don't judge the book from the cover, he's got quite a few "how to" automotive videos - you got a point with the jack :rollin:

Found a source for the parts.

Where I live there are 2-3 alternator/starter rebuilders nearby.

I usually just get a rebuilt unit.

By the time I go thru the hassle and time and beer to replace just the contacts I could be living a worry-free life about the next problem with the starter.

 

It is similar to replacing the fuel pump relay when you replace the fuel pump. As the pump was going bad, what arcing/burning of the relay contacts was happening?
