2000 Gmc Jimmy Heated Seat Failure

I have a 2000 GMC Jimmy SLT. Both the Driver and Passenger heated seats quit working sometime over the summer. Both seats have full power (seat adjustment and lumbar functions work).

On both seats the Heated Seat Switch Illuminates in both the Hi and Lo toggle positions.

I notice no visible voltage drop on the instrument panel volt meter when either seat (or both) are switched on.

Fuse seems to be fine. Is there a Relay somewhere ? Any ideas out there on where to start looking?

Seems unlikely that BOTH seat's heating elements would fail at the same time - especially since the passenger seat has been occupied maybe 10 times in the past 9 years, and the heated seat for the passenger has been used even less than that!

She is a great "old" truck - 167k, and still going strong - would very much like to get the heated seats back on line for the upcoming Minnesota winter. I am on a tight budget (recently lost my job), and have above average mechanic skills.

Any help / suggestions / assistance would be GREATLY appreciated !!

Thank You !

I would look at the relay block under the hood to start...after checking what wmcquay said first though.

I'll have a look at a couple sites that I have found with free Haynes manuals to see if I can find one for your truck.

And your right about a good truck...I have seen lots of these last for 500K km, or higher
