Starting Problems!

Need some help!!!! today i took my 05 2500 hd duramax to go pick up a car for a buddie truck ran great all the way there bout a 45 min drive backed up to the car let the truck cool off then shut it down loaded the car tied everything down talked for a few mins then went to crank the truck and nothing happend!!! pissed me off thought the batteries died luckly i had a spare in the back throwed it in on the passenger side and still nothing. checked all the connections for the batteries everything looked good. next checked all the fuses i could think of everything looked good however i found something interesting that worries me. i was board looking trough my mileage and stuff it was saying stuff like RANGE:--- and engine hours--11 (i know for a fact there are more) and same with the fuel used i know for a fact the truck has 3/4 tank of fuel and its reading empty and the fuel light is on i think a computer is fried somewhere but im not gona rule out needing new batteries but my cousin says its the comuter that mounts on the left side valve cover i think its the body controler i realy dont now what to call it. i realy need somehelp this thing is about to nickle and dime me to death cant aford to carry to a mechanic so far i have spun all the wrenches on my trucks for 5 years and im not about to pay someone big bucks to tell me its something simple. thanks in advance for any help anyone can give me.

Do you have any sign of power. Clock, dash, lights??

Sounds like the ECM.

 

If you find that it is, I have them for $175.

yea all my lights radio even onstar works other than i havent payed for any service and i know the fuel pump comes on atfirst i thought it was a bad selinoid on the starter and i jumped the selinoid with he key on and it would turn over but wouldnt bust off you cut the key on the guages come up other than the fuel gage it shows empty with the fuel light on go to start it all the guages fall out like they are supose to but nothing happens let te key go and everything comes back up. if it is indeed the ecm i will most definately hit you up for one thanks so far for the help

Just to confirm, it is not even cranking, or it will crank and not turn over?

it wont even turn over everything works lights radio but when u turn the key it will not turn over. but i jumed the selinoid with the key on and the moter would turn over but wouldnt start after that i went back into the truck and turned the key and it still wouldnt turn over so i know its not the starter.

well i only have a few options befor i have to take my truck to the dealership im gona get the key checked to see it the chip is burnt up then im looking at the key swith and after that the body harness controler i guess. i hate not knowing whats going on with my truck. on my 98 i know that truck inside and out keep putting money in my 05 i will beable to write a book on the 2005 duramax LLY guess im gona have to bite the bullet and take it to a dealer and let them work on it for 65 dollars a hour.
