2009 L76/6l80e

I have a 2009 Silverado with a L76/6L80e. It's a bit of an oddball, it's basically a NHT truck without the 17" wheels (dubs instead, yo), 3.42s instead of 3.73s, and the 300lb wimpier rear springs. Other than that, it's pretty much an NHT truck. It's got the Safety Package (wife wanted the curtain air bags) and the Exterior Plus Package (I wanted the universal home remote). Also have the power driver seat, wish I had a power passenger seat. I have yet to try the trailer brake controller.

I wanted an extended cab 5.6' bed but decided that resale would be horrible on a tow vehicle if you couldn't put a ball in the bed. So I got a 6.5' box. I wanted the 6.2L but you couldn't get it without the LTZ interior or in crew cab form. And it was impossible to get one in short notice without getting a Denali, and I wanted a real transfer case and a 14SF.

If I had known GM was going to can the 6.0L and switch to a normal silver color (instead of the dirty silver they've been using for 10 years) I'd have waited and ordered a 2010 extended cab 6.2L/6speed. Especially since I can order a comparable 2010 GMC for $250 less than my 2009 Silverado... with the 6.2L. Then again, I got my 09 for $10k off sticker.

I'm no photographer. I took these pictures for insurance reasons this weekend.

Hellwig 7800 sway bar (28mm) set to its stiffest setting. It helps with the cornering a lot and evens out the brutal driveway entrance pitching and yawing caused by the 36mm front bar.

Firestone 2320 SportRite bags, leaves more tire room than the RideRites.

I'm planning on putting 305x50r20 rubber on it, not sure when. I don't really like the pizza cutter look of the 275s. Old lady wants 22s but I don't think I'd like the stiffer ride. If the LS2s don't suck any worse in the snow than the rain I'll probably run them this winter. I was thinking about Cooper Zeon LTZs for replacement.

I've got some door handles and tailgate handle ready to paint, just have to go get the paint and then do it. I like the matched look.

I'm hoping to procure some more matching body moulding so I can put it on the box up to the flare in the fender. I like that look from the 99-03s better. Plus everyone here is fatter than I am so door dings are incredibly common.

I have electric on board air to put on it, just have to find time for that.

I have some steel to build a front receiver and a driveshaft hoop. Again, have to have time to do it.

I'd like to find a fleabay front bumper and paint it too match also. Maybe find a different grill and paint that to match.
