05silvycrew Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 wondering if anyone has harvested a whitetail this year. seems to be a pretty slow year where I hunt. I have only seen does and one little spike. post up pics if you have them
fm2176 Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 eWell, I don't hunt, but my neighbor has had a pretty good season so far. He's taken two or three at his camp, plus at least one in Georgia, Michigan and Texas so far. He gets back from his second trip to Texas this evening. He is a serious hunter and relies on his kills to provide meat for his family until the next season. Being his neighbor does have some benifits, such as the hind quarter in the crockpot right now.
Green_Monster Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 One whitetail and one coyote. Taken in the U.P.
welscher08 Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 I got a 7 pointer opening morning. It was so foggy out...if i wasn't in a stand i don't think i would have even went out hunting. And he walked right up to me, 20 yard shot, so i didn't have to worry about anything beyond me, with a nice downward shot. It kept my streak alive of 4 bucks the last 4 years on opening morning!
JRLZ71 Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 Killed this one right at dark on my land. He's decent. Young Buck
jro909 Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 not alot were killed in my area, i diden't get a single one...the herd has been over hunted the last few years is what the rumor is
stormrider Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 Harvested a 8 point archery Bear (black) archery and your typical squirrels, rabbits, chukars, and pheasants. A couple of Canda geese all in all a good year for me
jro909 Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 the issue of deer hunting is on the mud slope...dnr says the herd is being over hunted, and yet they allow rifles in the more populated zones now(way easy to drop a deer with a rifle) and on top of that deer hunters are crying because gun season isen't long enough...*sigh* thats why i do field and waterfowl mainly...
JAMIEZ71 Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 This is the whitetail I harvested in the bow season of 2009 on the 1st day. He scored 134 P&Y.
HoustonR6ryda Posted September 27, 2010 Posted September 27, 2010 my daughter last year Texas-she was good luck
mxdirtrider56 Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 I haven't even been yet this season. It has been so unseasonably warm even for Georgia lately that I just haven't been motivated to get into the woods. Today is the first day it actually feels like Fall down here. Consequently, I plan on being in my deer stand Saturday morning!
statelax3 Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 i only dropped 3 does last year. i only hunted 3 times so it was more meat hunting than anything. i say that but i would rather drop 3 8pts then 3 does. down here in south carolina the dang season opens in august and it is too hot to sit in a stand so i usually dont even start until october.
