Crossover or Amp?

I have been doing some studying and have a question. Which is a better way to filter the freq. to components, with an amp or crossover??

If you are going to use a crossover, get one that you can use for teh entire system.  The amp ones are fairly limited to which frequecies go through.  Something from Audio Control for example, will run the entire system.  I'm not sure if yu would need one for ech channel though.  There are several companies that make decent crossovers.  I'd check some of the web sites.  The Car Audio and Electronics yearly directory has all of the manufactuer's web site's listed.

most component sets come with the cross over

if you use just the amp you'll cook the tweeters real quick, they dont like low and mid range signals

the only crossover on an amp that i use is for my sub switched to low pass
