Im looking for some winter rims. I was thinking of finding a set of factory steel 17" wheels to mount 275/70s. Anyone know where I could buy a set for cheap? Can you outfit the steel wheels with TPMS?

Ebay is a good place to get "take off" wheels. You can outfit steel wheels with the TPMS sensors. That is the same set up I use.

Check with local custom wheel shops. Some take in trades or new takeoffs when they do work for dealerships. Another set of TPMS sensors can be picked up on Ebay reasonably.

Winter Rims Mounted Originally uploaded by istargazer. I put the winter tires back onto our 2007 GMC Yukon Denali XL this morning. It wasn't the ordeal it was last year, but it was snowing/hailing lightly while I was doing it.

I picked up a set of sierra wheels on craigslist.

 

I know you cannot put tpms sensors on steel wheels for Mazda, Honda, and Mini.

 

Did not know you could on GM models.

The dealer mark up on steel wheels is huge. Dealer supplied steel rims have flaws as well. It all comes down to the dude operating the balance machine. If he is diligent in his work he will spot a small wobble and pull the tire and get another rim.
