Need Replacement Muffler On '04 Tahoe Z71

Hey guys - my wife's Z71 has a "rattling muffler". Something inside must have come loose and now it sounds like a bunch of marbles going around in the dryer!

 

She want's a stock type sound still. The truck is completely stock. What is out there that is a straight swap for a stock muffler with maybe a bit better performance (and if it sounds a little better I'm OK with that too!!).

i have a stock 04 gmc sierra exhaust, its cut off right before the muffler just enough to weld or clamp it back on. its FREE TO YOU!!!! if you want to pay the shipping cost. i would love to get rid of it. i installed a flow master 50 on my truck cause i wanted a louder sound.

Is the Magnaflow 12388 a direct replacement for the stock muffler?

i'd get down there and measure it, but i think your stock muffler is 23"

 

you should be able to take it to an exhaust shop and they will make whatever you bring them work otherwise they wouldn't be in business. if i were you, i'd ask the guy at your exhaust shop what he'd recommend and get him to do it cuz he's the one's that gonna be welding it on there

 

unless you are going to be doing it of course.. then you could prob go with the 24" and be fine.. just cut off a little more.

 

shorter is usually louder and longer is a deeper sound from what i've heard.
