Remote Start Time

My truck has factory remote start, but it doesn't run long enough to defrost, the heated seats just start to get warm. Is there any way to adjust the run time? Leveling kit on with 20's, just replaced tires with Firestone Destination A/T, they work great in the snow, price was great, very happy with them. Also how do you turn on the light outside the cab, over the box?

As far as I know, you can not adjust the running time with the remote start.

You can extend it another 10 mins by pressing the 'start' button on the remote, to give you up to 20mins, but that's about it.

 

To turn on the light over the bed, use the light control for the interior lights. The outside cab light is tied into the interior over-head light. Dumb I think....should be a seperate button like it used to be.

Correct the only way to go more then 10 min is to hit the button again. If you hit it at the 5 min mark you would get another 10 giving you a total of 15 min. The only way to get the full 20 is wait till it shuts off the first time.

 

Is that really how the cab light is on an 07? I never really paid any attention. Making it the same function as the manual dome does sound dumb. Put me down for that is stupid over in the what don't you like thread.
