08 Equinox Back Up Camera

I have a 2008 equinox and want to add a back up camera. Can anyone tell me what is the oem product #? Or if there is a better back up cam that will go with my oem nav. Also, where is the placement of the camera?

I too am exploring the options on the rear view camera. I'll post and let you know what I come up with.

I'm not aware of any factory kit for an '08 Equinox.... you'll probably have to go aftermarket. For that matter, I'm not even sure the OE navigation will recognize a backup camera. Does the option to turn one on show up in the setup menus?

 

If not, you might be stuck also having to buy one of the Gentex rear view mirrors with a monitor in it for the camera (which you'll have to find a mount for yourself -- without there being a factory option there's no factory mounting location to run to).

I have a OEM mirror that has the video screen for the rear camera. Its just the mirror so you'll have to put together the parts for the camera and harness. PM me if your interested.
