Suspension Lift & Leveling Kit Together?

So I was talking to a guy today that has a 2007 Sierra SLT 4x4 with a 4" suspension lift Fab-Tec I think he said. Maybe Rancho...

 

He said he was also running just the lower strut part of a Readylift 2.5" leveling kit, with a slightly taller block on the rear. Does anyone know if there's a problem with doing this?

 

He wanted to get 5" and it looks like he got it. I just haven't heard of anyone doing this.

I am about to do this mod and am wondering about the rear shocks... what ones should i get with the tuff country 2'' suspension lift? Im looking on suspension connection and the sx8000 they recomend are only $37 so i cant imagin they are very nice. thanks for the help

It's a very common mod. I have a 1" Top Gun Customz leveling kit in addition to the BDS. 1" was all I could go without adversely affecting my angles. It all depends on your kit. The only kit I would feel comfortable adding a 2" leveling kit to, would be the Fabtech. And your buddy likely has the Rancho. Fabtech doesn't make a 4" for our trucks.

You can do it, we do them alot here at 4 wheel parts but for what you will pay to do the 4in kit and the spacers to make it a 5 you can buy the 6 in kits.
