Bonus Cash From Dealer

Yesterday when I got my mail, I had a check for $1,000 from the dealer where I bought my HHR in July using cash for clunkers. All the check said was "Rebate to Customer". I thought it might be some kind of promotion, but there weren't any disclosures. I called the dealership this morning to inquire about what the check was for and left a message for their accounts payable person call me back. 20 minutes later, I got a call from my salesman, who started saying that I would be getting a check from them, which I had already gotten. He said that the dealer sometimes gets different rebates and incentives from GM based on their sales for the year. They decided this year to give some of their incentives back to the customer . It's always fun to get money you aren't expecting.
