Missing Button Panel?

While replacing the head unit in my 08 Silverado LT, I notice that there is an unused harness behind the pocket that's right below the A/C controls. I looks as if the pocket can be replaced by some other option. Can someone tell me what the harness is for and if it is as simple as plugging in a panel?

It was just a guess, but your answer makes more sense.

so basically, you could add URPA, Adjustable Pedals, and Heated Washer Fluid to a truck that was not built with it!?! and it would totally Rule if its just Plug and Play for the EATC too!

NO,Absolutely not....The URPA would also require the sensors in the bumper along with the all the wiring harness's and LED indicators,The adjustable pedals would require of course the pedals with motor,The heated washer fluid would require the heater module and wiring harness.

Thanks for the responses. Seems like it's more trouble than it's worth.

And don't forget GM telling MicroHeat (the company that made the washer fluid heater) to F off. So getting one might become increasingly difficult. Last I saw there were 2 Toyotas that used the thing.

Just checked, MicroHeat.com is gone. They are done with. Which is fine, they made a terribly flawed product and refused to fix it and they lost, basically, their only contract. Serves them right. Sucks that those employees had to loose their jobs though.

I know you will have to get all the rest of the parts, but basically, the truck is sort of pre-wired for the options.
