Rc Truck Rear Defogger Or Slider

I got the tinted defogger window in the rear. I would prefer to have a sliding glass window so I can open it up have the windows down and decrease the turbulence. Is it worth it?

Bought mine used I wish it had it. Looked at gm parts direct and the slider costs more than the fixed glass.

I have had RC trucks with the rear slider. As time went on, I found myself using it less and less. I prefer less noise in the cab.

 

I have had EC trucks with the slider, and, unless it is electric, you don't, typically, use it much (at least I don't).

 

PERSONALLY, i think the defogger is more useful...but that's just me.

Yeah,The slider always does cost more,You want to use GM part#12498123 for the deep tint glass.

Just one small thing to keep in mind if you're looking at a manual sliding rear window. My dad had that in an old truck at one time and it got broken into through that window. They had jammed a screwdriver between the panes and forced the latch open. Newer designs are probably better at preventing that now but something to watch out for.

You could probably overpower the motor for these windows, not sure though. There's a long cable loop that the motor pulls to open or close the window. At least that's how it looks from the pictures I've seen.
