Drivers Side Front End Creak

Last march I had a leveling kit put on and after the install the front end creaked so bad I had them pull it off. After they pulled it off the front in still creaked so I took it to the dealer and they said the control arm wasn't torked down enough so the put the wrench to it and it stopped. Now I am noticing the creak again, it usually happens at slow speeds when I hit the break or if I am turning the wheels to the right and almost full lock. What could this be? I took it back to the dealer and they said could not replicate and said everything was fine. This is driving me up the wall!! What else could it be? I found a more reputable place to put on another leveling kit but don't want to make the problem worse. Any and all comments appreciated fellas

mine did a similar thing. i dont want to scare you, but because this happened to me i am warning you. have a front end shop check the ball joints. mine were shot after 50,000 miles, both of them. i have not had any problems out of the new ones.

Ball joints? They did take the leveling kit off right after they put it on (since the front end creaked so bad). Just still seems to creak a bit, anything they didn't tighten down or put back correctly?

my truck started to creak right after my leveling kit. i took it to the dealer and they replaced my driver side ball joint at about 8,000 miles. no problems since and i'm at 25,000 miles.

Thanks yall! I am taking her to a dealer in Fort Worth texas next weekend to take another stab at the leveling kit. I told him I had some front end creaking and he said no problem, we'll fix it up once we get the kit on. One more week and hopefully this obsession with the leveling kit will all pan out and I will have the truck I've always wanted!

Curious as to how one might grease a front end on a GMT900, as there are no grease fittings on the ball joints. Mine were shot from alot of offroad abuse. I use my truck alot for what most people use an ATV for. I didnt know the ball joints were bad until I took it in for a line up job. It drove absolutley fine, and dint make any noise until the suspension rebounded off of a hard jolt. I got a call from the tech who said when the jacked it up off the tires the front end nearly fell off. I took this as exaggeration, and inspected the replaced parts myself. The balls were extremely close to falling out, the tech said they were in very bad shape. Cost me $500 for the line up, labor, and parts. Had to go back with GM Parts as no one offers any affordable replacements. You can look back at the older post I had going about this. At that time I think Cognito or some racing suspension company was making a long travel race ball joint system for these trucks, but they were high, over a grand in parts with no lift! I feel like it will time for a new ride in the fall of this year.

Damn sorry that happened to you man. I have to admit, I don't use my truck as nearly as hard as you do. Do you think that the dealer will be able to fix it all good as new when they install the new kit?
